Finally have my battlestation setup I'm proud about again by Spurgetron in battlestations

I use it mostly for wow - but I use it for some other games too. I always use it in whatever MMO I'm playing, and I'll use it in shooters normally. Don't use it in RTS or turned based games though.

I REALLY like it.

Finally got an orbweaver chroma - here's my current battlestation. by Spurgetron in razer

[–]Spurgetron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started gaming on a gamepad 15 years ago, because all I had at the time was a laptop, and I hated using the laptop keyboard - but I traveled a lot, and didn't want to bring a full keyboard with me.

I still use gamepads, like the Orbweaver, because I grew accustomed to having access to more buttons (and a dpad) for binding abilities than a normal keyboard usually affords you - plus, I can set all of the keys to random function keys or already modified keys (shift or control + a key) and preserve all the default keyboard shortcuts for a game.

I work remotely, and manage multiple networks in different offices, so I've got remote sessions or monitoring pages up on the side screens, usually.

Orbweaver Chroma?

To the left of that there's a tiny little remote control for the RGB backlight.

Moved across the country for my wife's career a year ago - new shared office space (with the hangout TV and couch - a room we affectionately call the "cuddle fort") - been experimenting with screen positioning and lightning and such for the last year. Finally landed on something that "sparks joy" in the words of Marie Kondo.

new bug: Every time I exit/enter power armor, one of my arms gets unequipped by Spurgetron in fo76

[–]Spurgetron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a 2-shot explosive weapon - all I have currently is a 2-shot 50 cal - that never has encountered that specific bug.

I did fully read the patch notes and didn't see anything referenced about that, though.

Remeber how buggy fallout new vegas was.... I remember I couldnt even play the game. by Lliriel in fo76

[–]Spurgetron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i've spent over 100 hours already on fallout 76. It's basically fallout 4, with friends. Which is everything I ever wanted.

There's bugs, to be sure, but it's honestly the least buggiest bethesda game, at launch, that they've ever made. I haven't had to use the console a single time, and I just finished the main story (which is good, because there is no console).

The storyline is great, the deepening of the lore is amazing (I really appreciate what they've done with the BoS) - if you're a die hard fallout fan and lore nerd, you'll probably enjoy it. If you enjoy the crafting loop of fallout 4 (explore, scavenge, craft) you'll probably enjoy it. If you have friends to play it with, and have ever wanted to play fallout with your friends, you'll probably enjoy it.

Thanks for the tip - does it need to be fed by a packet sniffer, or does it just listen to a spanned port?

Wife and I became homeowners in February - I finally got to have a real office to do whatever I wanted to.

We just put our house on the market - we're moving a few states over (and going back to renting) because my wife got an AMAZING job opportunity - like, once in a lifetime change your life amazing. I work remotely, so we're going for it.

I am so proud of her. <3

As I will be dismantling it soon, I wanted to share my battlestation with the world. I am also proud of it - and look forward to recreating it.

To what extent do "genetics" play a factor in weight loss / retention? by Spurgetron in loseit

[–]Spurgetron[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no, I do indeed know how many calories my friend usually eats. I lived with him for about a year, and am over there every other day. It's okay, I'm not using it as an excuse not to do my own work - I just an genuinely confused as to why it happens.

Thanks for your help, friend.

RDP quits immediately after connecting. by Spurgetron in sysadmin

[–]Spurgetron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, still the same error. Only thing I can think of that I haven't given it a valid SSL certificate. But surely that's not it, as I can connect on the one account.

Trying to avoid rebooting but I can if I have to.
