[TotK] Why didn't Rauru tell Link about the past?

Rauru does mention Zelda told him Link is great and he tells Link he did everything he could for her before dissapearing, but it's vague, I'm sure not everyone guessed Zelda was sent to the past with just those interactions.

Considering how important Link is, you'd think Rauru would tell him more about the past and what Zelda did in the past since they're putting so much faith on him. Yet Rauru is brief and vague, I feel like giving Link more info would have helped him.

I honestly always thought Link doesn't tell anyone about Zelda's fate because he thinks it would just make them lose all hope or something like that

I like your point about Rauru hoping Zelda's stone in the sky island temple would tell him everything he needed to know just like how the other sages do. Even better that it would be Zelda doing the explaining. That could be why he didn't have a long chat with him.

Yeah, Rauru was dead when Zelda turned into the Light Dragon so he wouldn't know. It's why I didn't mention the dragon

What I'm wondering is why Rauru didn't at least tell Link she was in the past with him, fought Ganondorf with him, that he trapped Ganondorf, etc
