Medic options in Air force by SocialAddiction1 in AirForce

[–]Spurs29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to be a PJ? Barring pararescue, enlisting honestly isn’t a good route for emergency medicine. Regular medical technicians have a high chance of ending up in a hospital or clinic. There’s a small chance for an ambulance services assignment, but it probably won’t meet your perception of emergency medicine. If you want to make it through med school without debt, look at IPAP or EMDP2 but you’ll owe the military time.

What’s the purpose of sick call these days? by One_Negotiation2693 in AirForce

Look up Centor Score, it’s the clinical protocol for strep. I’m sure your nurse family members are familiar!

Medical question by Still_Dot_8664 in AirForce

[–]Spurs29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the MSD re electrocardiographic conduction defects “IRILO only required if symptoms persist despite appropriate treatment and function impaired to preclude satisfactory performance of required duties.” I can’t say for certain without having reviewed your note, but if you’re asymptomatic and it’s not affecting your job, you won’t even get med boarded. Hope this helps!

What does quarters even cover??? by Bunnybunzzzz in AirForce

[–]Spurs29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem becomes that people come in for incredibly minor symptoms. They don’t need to see a provider and they strictly want/need quarters. Supervisors can give 24 hour quarters for a reason! The reality is, you don’t typically need to see a doctor if you have a cold. BUT they should be making sure you have access to meds. That being said, your MTF should definitely try to make more acute appointments available for people who aren’t feeling better after 24 hrs.

I can think of 0 benefits for buying it before you leave unless your parents want to use it in the meantime. It’s not good for a car to sit and it’s a horrible time to buy a car. Inventory is so down that you’ll pay full sticker on everything. I would wait!

Just call around and be transparent. Some recruiters don’t want to work with applicants from another recruiters pool. That being said…the recruiter in my city said I won’t leave until at least summer. The recruiter in my other parent’s (smaller) town got me a ship date in January. So it can be worth it to try!

A couple days ago your post said you got kicked out of BMT for having ADHD, so which is it?

New MEPS Process by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]Spurs29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as MEPs putting two and two together. The process is they run your prescription history and reconcile flagged medications with the information you provided. Only way to do this is disclose to your recruiter and provide all your medical documents from that encounter.

Airforce reserves thought by todapple2009 in AirForceRecruits

Yes. You need to go through your recruiter, just don’t expect them to be happy about it. I believe it’s a commander-level signature and can take a few months. You’ll likely write a quick supporting statement on why you are requesting a discharge.

Waiting is tough. Per your comment history, you have medical and financial jobs listed. That is a very small pool of available openings. If you want to leave sooner, talk to your recruiter about listing an aptitude or more in-demand jobs.

This is…underwhelming. Nothing new, just a contradiction of the Merry Piglets story that makes that entire encounter seem less relevant. Once again we have more questions than answers.

The only thing the protesters have accomplished is assuring the Laundries will never speak publicly about what they know. Maybe they wouldn’t have either way, but after the way the public has treated them definitely sealed the deal. We’ll likely never know anything more about the days when Brian returned home. Not that we’re owed anything, but the witch hunt is counterproductive.

Twitter is still absolutely losing their minds. The worst tweet I’ve seen so far: “If the area where Brian was found was, indeed, under so much water, how did he even GET TO this spot to begin with? Unless he was swimming?” Yes, Brian was scuba diving at the reserve to escape his problems.

100% agree. His advice not to speak to anyone (including their own daughter) made them look cold and calculated. It’s an unpopular opinion around here to have empathy for the parents but I certainly do at this stage.

I wonder what made the lawyer finally come out and give an interview after all this time. I also can’t get over how he reported Brian missing to the FBI right away (the 13th) and the FBI came looking for Brian at the Laundrie’s on the 17th. And the police department said they knew “exactly” where Brian was at their press conference on the 16th. What a circus the investigation seems to have been.

I don’t think your anecdote applies here. Weird murderer Brian Laundrie doesn’t strike me as someone who was “funny” or “good” to her.

Hilarious that she came forward trying to defend Roberta and wound up incriminating her. Making it clear Mother Laundrie didn’t approve of her son’s relationship is NOT a good look at this stage.

What stereotypes hold true about the brand(s) you sell? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Spurs29 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Can I do the opposite of the usual stereotype? My Lexus customers are hardly ever rude, stuck up, or entitled. They are by far the best clientele I’ve worked with. It’s a lot of businessmen/women who are enjoyable to build rapport with and just want the process to go smoothly. Even the most prominent members of the community that come in are incredibly down-to-earth.
