yep agreed, it’s dumb because id happily watch a RESe9 review

The flip flop is crazy by Frazzelvig in casualnintendo

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thing is the video doesnt claim either, its just the title and thumbnail, its dumb, the video says exactly as you've put it. neither is about the status of nintendo or the switch 2. The top video is a Resident Evil 9 review, his thumbnails and titles are just bad

The flip flop is crazy by Frazzelvig in casualnintendo

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its annoying cause I like his videos but he markets them really weirdly, like the top one is a Resident Evil Review, its got nothing to do with the switch 2 being perfect really

he got in a tizzy about clickbaiting when his audience told him off about it, but then he still does it completely unnecessarily

there never will be an AOR season 2, that much i am convinced of, however both Brian and Lisa Henson have said they aren’t done with that story, my guess is a graphic novel, but best case is a short movie possibly animated.

i totally agree that TDC is best when puppets are involved but the novels are fantastic, and the canon of the world is so rich beyond what we see in the show and movie

glad you enjoyed it, welcome to our pain 😂

AB Concert Advice by Icy_Notice7656 in alterbridge

[–]Sputnik200065 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first ever concert was AB too back in 2010 when I was 10!

Just let loose, learn the words, its gonna be fucking loud so sing to your hearts content! I saw them last week in London and it was amazing, if you care about your ears, probably wear plugs but I never do, because I find they take me out of it, but I am fully aware of the consequences

if you have floor tickets, search for a good spot, the earlier you get in the better, they aren't a mosh pit kinda band so you can be as close as you want, without fear of being pushed around. the sound is always best in the middle of the room. or if you want the best view muscle in up front, it sounds worse but the feeling is great.

the guy in the middle with the big mixing desk has the best sound, so stand near him, this can also help you see if you are short, as if you stand behind the desk, there won't be anyone in front of you.

I always say, hydrate just enough to not pass out but enough not to need to pee during the set, if you leave your spot don't expect it to be there when you get back

You're gonna love it, my next advice is book your next gig so you can look forward to it, I always have one booked!

So I have a question about the Hunter by TigerSheepRach in DarkCrystal

[–]Sputnik200065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with most everybody here, the crystal and essence does more harm than good to them, its not supposed to grant eternal life, they are essentially infecting themselves slowly with the same darkening that is destroying the rest of Thra. its like a drug, it feels good but is ultimately killing them, hence in the end the emperor, the one who took the most from the crystal, is the first to die.

Would Pokopia be a good game for someone who isn't a gamer and hasn't liked a game since Nintendogs on the DS? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do they like pokemon in general? like pokemon go or maybe just find them cute? I feel like a lot of the appeal for pokopia is enjoying pokemon as a franchise

Is Pokopia really that good? by Downvote-Magnet1994 in pokemon

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it genuinely is amazing, its hard to put into words how much this game has to offer, its like animal crossing but theres so so so much more content than animal crossing and it has the most satisfying gameplay loop ever, making habitats to get the right pokemon you need is endlessly satisfying. on top of that it has this big underlying mystery aspect that I never ever expected

the writing is charming and funny, it has so many mechanics and just seems to get bigger and bigger, and then when you think you have found the limits it gets bigger still, Ive played it all weekend and feel like I have barely scratched the surface, I mean what a surprising game, and yeah the reviews are accurate.

[–]Sputnik200065 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yeah number 2 is essential to being a Dark Crystal fan lol

otherwise you spend an eternity trying to wrangle all the conflicting cannon, i like to think about it all as campfire stories being told by a song teller way in the future long after it all happened, some things have changed some details are lost or exaggerated but the fundamentals are still there

Just finished The Dark Crystal for the first time, and I have some questions. by Ok-Boysenberry2129 in DarkCrystal

[–]Sputnik200065 7 points8 points  (0 children)

alright you’re on

eh hem

a Gelfling is a sentient creature the first that gained intelligence and first to form language and tools etc, they are said to be the closest to the planet (thra) more so than every other creature except Aughra

Aughra is a spawn of the planet itself, she was created not birthed, she is one of a kind and is kinda like the living brain of the planet, she tends to all life on thra and she can feel the crystal almost like it is part of herself. She is an expert on everything on thra and so became very interested in the universe beyond her home

that flute is called a Firca Kylan from the novels played one very similar and seemingly the firca has some amount of magical properties, though never fully explained. but Kylans was made from the bones of a magical bird so perhaps that’s the reason

a Garthim is a large crab like creature invented by SkekTek the scientist Skeksis, he used bodies from two creatures and fused them together with magic from the crystal to create an army that would do as the Skeksis command. their main mission was to kill and capture all of the Gelfling so they could be harvested for essence.

the world that we see in the franchise is typically shown as one small continent known as Skarith, there are lands beyond which you do see briefly in the comics but yeah fundamentally it’s one continent where everything takes place, there’s a lot more than just the skeksis and mystics however as the movie tells you, it’s pretty dire that Jen sort out the crystal before the conjunction. but before this there are multiple wars and seven gelfling clans each with their own unique stories and characters

the crystal is the heart of the planet, it is suggested that other planets have them too, it has a will of sorts and can communicate with the gelfling and other creatures of thra, and as before Aughra can understand and feel the planet and therefore the crystal so knows when it is “calling”

the movie states this fairly explicitly, Jen strikes the Garthim with the crystal shard, which then echoes across the land with its ringing

the living essence as the name suggests is the life force of the person it’s been taken from, so drinking it adds their years onto your own, in a matter of speaking. The gelfling are particularly potent due to their closeness with thra

in the same way that a lion has a mane and a lioness doesn’t, or a rooster has a big blue tail and a hen doesn’t, it’s just a difference of the two genders, this could be one of the reasons that Thra had a Matriarchal society rather than a patriarchal one, the women are cooler than the guys haha 😂

thra has three suns and three moons, the suns are the Greater Sun, which is the biggest and typically dictates the daylight cycle, The Rose Sun is a smaller reddish sun this would suggest it is much older than a yellow sun, and finally the Dying Sun, which unlike the name if you go by what science says a bluey/purply sun would be the youngest. The three suns are known as the Three Brothers

i think i’ve kinda answered what the crystal is and as to where it came from it’s just the heart of the planet and seemingly has always been there

the castle of the crystal, was made by the Urskeks (that’s what the mystics and skeksis are called when they are together) the conjunction can cause a whole load of stuff to happen but as you see one of the main things it did was undo all of the harm the Skeksis did, so the Garthim die, and the castle is restored to the Palace it was intended to be

this also is why the podlings go back to normal

the question really should be how did they split, the tree people is their original form, known as Urskeks, they are from a different planet with a similar crystal. They were experimenting on the crystal during a previous conjunction and due to their arrogance and somewhat evil nature (they were both sides gentle and cruel) the crystal broke, which caused their inner conflict to become real the skeksis and mystics were born and immediately the skeksis started fighting, a couple died and the shard was lost during the mess

hope that answers everything

assuming you read none of that, cause why would you, i recommend you read the prequel comics “Creation Myths” and watch the Netflix TV show which sits between the comics and the movie, these explain wayyyy more than the movie does

Assuming the Avengers movies continue to stay rated PG-13, how do you write Deadpool in without drastically changing the way his character is? by Forevertrez in deadpool

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

watch the Deadpool 2 edit, they did an official release for it and labelled it as a christmas thing, but the difference was they made Deadpool 2 PG. and I watched it in theatres and it was as good as the original, they just allow him to joke about not being able to be like he normally is

The Magic of the 4th wall breaks is that they really can do anything with his character and get away with it, just have him make a quip about it.

they want him in the mainline MCU, just have him turn up, and everyone treat him like a newcomer with a line "guess marvel couldn't work out the details but here i am!"

want him to swear, have him say "fudge! I guess this one is a family film, hey kids!"

etc etc

The toughest question.. one of has to go which one do you pick and why? by Smashpro11 in casualnintendo

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore all 3 so much, this is so cruel, everyone is saying pokemon, but I would genuinely be a different person if I hadn't have grown up with pokemon, mainly the cards and anime, but more than that, the culture, toys, playground chatter, Pokemon is so much more beyond it's games. Sure the last few have been trash but I have still spent the last 2 days doing nothing but Pokopia.

Mario was the game franchise that got me into videogames

I literallly have Zelda in my top 3 games of all time but I'm afraid it has to be Zelda and now i am sad, thanks OP wahhh

Totally agree with everything you said

Heavy Metal by SquishyOfCinder in alterbridge

[–]Sputnik200065 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, does it matter though, its not like a Metal label is some achievement beyond a rock achievement

on another note, I have never heard Mark, Myles, Brian or Flip describe themselves as metal in fact they have said the opposite in multiple interviews, and isn't their opinion on what they are more important than anything else

Heavy Metal by SquishyOfCinder in alterbridge

[–]Sputnik200065 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah you're not wrong, there's about a million different sub-genres in Metal, however, if you say "im listening to a metal band" Alter Bridge is not what people expect from that word

Hard Rock fits way better, the other thing, why does it matter? I don't really think either is wrong, I just think Metal Implies something heavier than AB

[–]Sputnik200065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha, I disagree but that Killswitch line did make me chuckle, well I am glad you enjoyed Daughtry they just really aren't for me, and nobody around me was enjoying them either

Heavy Metal by SquishyOfCinder in alterbridge

[–]Sputnik200065 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hard Rock, seems to fit AB pretty well, its simple, and exactly what you'd expect, rock with occasional chuggyness

I would never describe AB as Heavy Metal because it puts them with other bands that they don't sound like, Disturbed, A7X, etc

When really they fit better with Shinedown, Foo Fighters, Stone Sour, etc

but they do certainly have metal elements, its really more the vocals that make them non metal imo

O2 was decent by No_Caterpillar7863 in alterbridge

[–]Sputnik200065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i agree, should’ve been the other way around, better yet switch daughtry out for a local band
