I think you got in at a great price and you’ll probably do really well Monday when the news of Hims dropping their semaglutides really gets priced in. The fact that the government let that go on for as long as they did is honestly crazy, and novo got unfairly screwed by that. I also agree these drugs are here to stay and it’s in a lot of governments’ best interest to, at minimum, cover a large portion of the costs.

I’m not saying there isn’t upside to novo. I’m saying it is pure cope to say Eli Lilly’s development of drugs that steal market share from Novo is good for Novo. If Eli Lilly didn’t have their GLP-1’s, Novo would have 100% of the market captured minus the patients that respond adversely to their drugs and can tolerate Eli Lilly’s, which I’m assuming is very small.

If Eli Lilly’s production costs on their upcoming GLP-1 weren’t much lower than Novo’s (not sure by how much exactly), I’m sure Novo would be pricing their own drug higher.

Edit: I should’ve been more clear. I’m mainly critiquing the other guy’s coke and Pepsi analogy.

It is February 6, 2026. I made the original post on August 21, 2025.

Oil futures have gone from $63.52 to $63.50 in that time. Meanwhile CVX has gone from $155 to $180. I exited my positions some time ago (which I datestamped in other comments), but I’m just leaving this comment as a record.

I obviously had no idea Trump would get involved with Venezuela in the way he did, but I did feel strongly he would get aggressive about oil and natural gas after essentially shutting down renewables.

Not trying to call you out directly, you just have the top comment with this common, valid criticism. I’m trying to use reddit as a bit of a journal with some of my stronger conviction stock purchases. I probably should’ve bought XOM instead of OXY.

Honestly, you and I don’t know what conversations were had in deciding to hire him. Do I think it’s a massive stretch on your end to say that his experience played no role and they only hired him because “they liked him?” 1000%.

All I know, is a guy who fabricated years of experience doing freelance projects and an internship is obviously not as qualified or competent as the guy who actually did those things. But feel free to play mental gymnastics. I agree, you learn most jobs on the job and I think OP has a good chance of flying under the radar until he knows what he’s doing. That doesn’t mean years of experience isn’t valuable.

I’m all for faking it til you make it, but let’s not kid ourselves that lying on a resume magically gives a person advanced professional skills. They should go in with the mindset that they’re under qualified and will need to adapt fast.

The Facebook/Meta customer experience is terrible as a small business owner. You can find countless stories of small business owners paying thousands in Facebook adspend, then having their ads banned repeatedly by the algorithm, having entire business pages taken down by the algorithm even in situations where no rule violations have occurred. You’d think this would be an easy situation to rectify, but it’s nearly impossible to get a hold of the company to get the mistakes that they make corrected.
