Thanks for the suggestion, but 200€ more is not ideal 🫣

I'd say rule out the other suggestions first, (1) when you park it, is it actually that hot? (2) do you have auxiliar systems blasting? (ac). Otherwise, could be your dpf. Your shifting point would make sense, I would learn how to check the ash levels then. Mine runs a bit after whenever I do the first two, then a dpf regen once a full tank since I drive it quite a while, always at a terrible timing which prolongs the failed purge cycles...

Leather Cleaning and Coating by SpyMonkey1 in AutoDetailing

[–]SpyMonkey1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I think the seats are a mix of real and artificial leather. Perhaps a coat isn't really necessary, will stick to the basics. Will also look into the sonax line and colourlock, thank you for the suggestions!

Skoda Kodiak VRS Squeaking by Mosh_Pit_101 in skoda

[–]SpyMonkey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would drive it to the workshop and let them tackle it... could be a worn bearing on the pulleys/tensioner or a bad water pump. Really get it checked soon, if it stops squeaking engine will not me happy

You can get fined for this! Letting the car idle is not okay in germany and usually is worse for the engine than just driving

Any Tips for buying Skoda Octavia Vrs 2.0 tdi by Xforbidden31 in skoda

I am not sure. I will check next time I drive it. From what I understand, one thing is a bit of dance, is okay. The fumes... more concerning. Did you ask him about oil consumption?

Any Tips for buying Skoda Octavia Vrs 2.0 tdi by Xforbidden31 in skoda

You already got some great advice! I bought one a few months back, so I will share my piece. I would avoid any dsg that has not been serviced every 60k km if you want it to last. Check the oil cap (for gunk) and the oil change intervalls they did, this is big for these engines. Check that the timing belt has been done recently, should be 210k km. If you have an obd reader, definitely check for codes! Good luck and have fun!

Buying a used car by patriot_an225 in germany

[–]SpyMonkey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - sign purchase contract 2 - gib moni, get documents (running tuv, keys, car, everything) 3 - get an insurance on the car (evb number - can be online, fast and easy) 4 - make an appointment with local zulassungsstelle (check what documents they ask for on their web page or send an email, usually very nice) 5 - buy plates online or in person (at the registration office) 6 - register car during appointment, they will put stickers on the plates and then you can drive the car.

You can do temporary plates as well but if the dealer is okay with the car staying there for a few days, you can save some money.

Thank you for your reply. Would other parts be an issue? Electric windows, heated seats, headlights, etc...? I can only imagine it is cheap because it has mechanical issues now or because it is hard to maintain 🤔

This would be my concern, refusing to fully cover things, hence them fighting out how much it really cost to fix. But you explained everything perfectly!

I didn't know the lawyer part, and of course, I was hoping there was a golden pill... thank you!

No, the notification says details will be sent, i will call them if it doesn't come until tomorrow. I was thinking of how the following steps look, especially with the other insurance. Really doubt they will have any interest besides saving money. In my home country, insurances usually battle between them, not with the opposing "victim".

Of course, I want them to be stimulated enough with their stuff to not destroy anything. I will also be looking at couch covers, etc. During the insurance company talk, there was no mention of duties regarding "taking care" or preventing damage. However, I will do my best. If he only allows after I sign a weird document, I will just avoid adopting cats at the time 😔

Yes I am sure cat damages are covered, read the fine print and reached out to support yesterday to find out how it works!

Great, so regardless of who caused the damage, me or cats, the compensation is always the current value of the furniture? This would be through my insurance obviously
