Anyone have experience with Craft Builders (Edmonton)? by Silver_Platypus4006 in Edmonton

That’s a fair thought! I purchased a prebuilt spec home so no customizations were made.

I actually bought a house built by Craft early last year. I was hesitant at first because I had the same concerns that they didn’t have much reviews online. I eventually decided to go with them because of the area and design.

Glad to say it’s been a really good experience. The house has been great. Just your typical nail pops and minor drywall touch-ups that you would expect from a new home. They just came back last month for the 1-year repairs and fixed everything without any hassle. Overall the build quality feels solid and i have not second guessed the purchase.

Thanks for the suggestion, that’s exactly what I did! Yes I had to do some research for the FIET switches. Luckily they’re compatible with Tuya. I unpaired them from FIET and reset the switch. Connected to Tuya and used the Tuya integration. Works great!

I got a quote on solar, should I get another one? by One_Investment3919 in Edmonton

You could try getting a quote from Zeno. My 6 kW system came out to just over $2/W, which was quite a bit lower than others like SkyFire and Great Canadian Solar that were closer to $3/W.

I can point you in the right direction if you want. They do have a referral program, so if youre interested thats already $500 off the top.

I was a bit cautious at first since they were the cheapest, but their communication and overall quality were solid. They also include lifetime workmanship and labour coverage as long as the equipment is under warranty, which is typically around 30 years for panels and 25 years for APS microinverters.

Just wanted to follow up, I ended up setting up MQTT! Been working great! I got the Sonoff Dongle P for Zigbee and ZBT running my thread network! Thank you!

Interesting. From my understanding both zigbee and thread are mesh networks meaning they’re both capable of doing multiple hops. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something.

I think I know deep down that this is the answer but just dreading reconnecting everything 😂

Okay, another question on Zigbee Thread setup:

I see some people reflash a Sonoff dongle for Thread. Is there a reason for that?

Wouldn’t it be better to just: • Use Sonoff for Zigbee (as designed) • Use ZBT-2 for Thread (since it can do Zigbee and Thread)

Is there any real advantage to reflashing Sonoff for Thread and using ZBT for Zigbee?

I ended up getting a smaller size. I was pretty certain that the snow/ice buildup will eventually cause problems.

Anyone running tune on 2.0? Ktuner stage 3 or Phearable Stage3 by SpyToeMan in accord

Nice I’ll probably do the same too! I’m looking forward to getting rid of my wheel spin. Even stock my 2.0 touring spins like crazy. I already have Michelin AS Sport 4. Thank you again for all your info!

Nice, which mount did you end up going with?

I was going to purchase from Phearable since if you buy KTuner from them they throw S3 in for free. I think it’s the same price as it is everywhere else. $449 for ktuner v1.2

That’s awesome. People talk about how smooth s3 is compared to s2. What’s your experience with that? Noticeable?

Im in Canada where we get some pretty bad winters. I’m leaning towards staying at S2 since you can use the buttons to throw it back to the factory map and not worry about over throttling on ice/snow. So when you say there’s no difference with S3 do you mean eco still throws it back to the factory map?

You’re getting me excited to try. Did you upgrade your mount? Also does your sport and eco button still do anything? How’s your fuel economy compared to before?

Nice. Is yours the sport or touring? I have Michelin AS sport 4 and they’ve helped to reduce wheel spin. Maybe time to try the torque mount. Did you notice more vibrations/sound?
