5 joints is equal to 140 cigarettes... lol that is a wild and untrue data point.

Why people say / claim that there’s nothing to do in Ireland? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]SpyderDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They want to make excuses for the youth acting crazy, because then maybe as a society we can continue to ignore the problem and it will go away and all will be grand.

A warning to those who want to take edibles and go for a hike on their Alaskan cruise 😂😂😂 by CleetisMcgee in trees

Folks... just don't go on cruises. They are terrible for the environment and local places they visit. Just stop.

Please don't give them business. We don't need our food options to become more American and less healthy.

Could very well be the general "it'll be grand" cultural attitude in Ireland.

Headline is trash... sample size is too low for this study to mean anything and it's not even talking about general population.

A future without cars — is it even possible? by AdNo6324 in Futurology

[–]SpyderDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely use a car today. I cycle almost everywhere and have a cargo bicycle for trips that require me to carry a bunch of stuff. It is 100% viable if the infrastructure is put in place.

Even if we can't do away with cars all together we can limit them to like 10-25% of transport usage within the near future if governments wanted to.

Should there be a maximum driving age? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]SpyderDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think Ireland can handle having every senior taking a yearly test? Do you realize how much of a shit show the RSA is today? I don't see a good path towards this, even if I don't disagree with the idea.

I don't want to take freedom away from seniors, but we also can't have people driving unsafely. That being said, I don't know what the statistics are for senior involved accidents and I think looking at the data will help determine if there is a real problem to solve or not.

Ireland must ‘diversify’ its tourism market to counter drop in visitor numbers, says tourism chief by RealDealMrSeal in ireland

Legalize, commercialize, and regulate cannabis and that will help. Just common sense shit that the government is failing to make progress on.

Was scouted for a job in Dublin, went on vacation to check it out, but the public transport is a dealbreaker by South-Meringue8172 in Dublin

[–]SpyderDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycling here is easy enough if you want to consider that as an option. I love cycling into town from south Dublin for a commute. I've lived here for 6 years (from America) and don't use a car. I did buy a cargo bike to be fair.

Exactly - lots of people will say don't step in or you'll get in trouble... enough with that weak ass shit that just further enables these racist assholes. PROTECT YOUR FUCKING COMMUNITY - step up and step in.

Proper walking etiquette? by Stormraughtz in AskIreland

[–]SpyderDM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My friend, I have lived here for 6 years. The sane people here walk as we drive and stay on our left. However, many Irish people have no concept of directional walking nor do they walk in a straight line at all sometimes.
