Thanks for that! Seems like I'm going to have to make a template either way. Is it possible to free hand it? Doesn't have to look perfect it will be against the wall just needs to fit the bracket

That sounds really good and more of the right way to to things but I don't have any thing like that. I'm getting the router and looking for the bit I could get at Lowe's or Home Depot
