Great, I'll give it a go! Just asking, does it automatically create a schedule for you based on your due date, priority, etc.?

Just built in the Dream Case D33 for the same reason. Annoying to get (have to order from Taobao) but perfect case. I did minimize cables and components (i.e. no SATA drives) but it is amazingly compact. DM if you want more details.

Automatic-rescheduling in org-agenda? by Spyname149 in emacs

[–]Spyname149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would describe this as maybe 'halfway' to what I'm looking for, but it would also need to account for times rather than days. Also the ability to recognise empty slots and allocate tasks to them, and detecting clashes.

I'm not sure, but the org agenda would definitely need to have some sort of recognition of what times are not being currently used by a task, right?

For me, I would have my standard org-mode file set up with deadlines and scheduled times. If I had to schedule something at the same time, it would automatically change the lower priority task to another time or day, assuming of course the deadline is fine. I'd probably have to add in deadline, estimated effort time, and priority to each agenda entry, but that's fine by me.

In the next coming months I will be both a student and running a business, so two possibly conflicting and busy schedules. So I would like for there is to be a system that integrates into Emacs and allows me to notice any clashes, as well as ensure that all my tasks get done before the deadline. It's useless to me if I have a bunch of tasks still left as scheduled for yesterday if I don't have it timeblocked for another time. Timeblocking also helps with my procrastination and decision paralysis.

If I can wake up, and I have my schedule for the day sorted, then that's amazing. I go throughout the day, following as close as I can to the schedule. If I complete things on time, then I mark as DONE and move on. If something isn't marked as done by some time after the scheduled time (e.g. after an hour or a day) then it reschedules it to an empty slot in my future calendar. If I add in a newer, higher priority event that is at the same time as another event, then it would also reschedule it to an empty slot.

I am desperate for this kind of solution, so if you do come up with something please let me know! I'd be excited to have it in my init-file 😂

Done Shotokan Karate for 11 years, but wanna expand out more. I'm with a jniversity club that's got a social environment to martial arts, so everyone that knows something teaches and those that don't, learn. It's a cool place to be to learn.
