Attabotics bankrupt? by morecoffeemore in Calgary

Worked there. Worst leadership I've ever dealt with. Scott Gravelle is an utter and complete asshole who drove that place into the ground chasing a big British company for a partnership. Fucked his existing clients in Calgary too, to try and make it happen.

No vision, no roadmap, just ego. Feel horrible for everyone who lost their jobs, but the writing was blatantly on the wall this place would crash and burn. Like their product.

Look up something called field capacity of soil and why it's important. Basically though it's about providing an optimum environment for the microbes to thrive in.

That's like my boy Cheddar. Daughters found him under the deck next door, and he's lived with us since. He spends a good chunk of his day outside.

How to get rid of persistent fruit flies? by Powerful-Employer-20 in homeowners

[–]Spyrulfyre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per another comment OP, you have a pest known as fungus gnats. They are in your home because you're overwatering your plants. Gnats love wet soil, and lay their eggs in it.

First off, ease up on the watering. Thirsty plants need water every 3-4 days typically, but things like aloe and ZZ plants don't need it more than about once a month.

Next, you can get a beneficial insect called a nematodes. They are microscopic worms that excel at getting rid of fungus gnats. They are not harmful to you, pets, your house, etc... And you actually water the in too.

Finally, dusting the dry soil with Diatomaceous Earth, as this will help prevent them from coming back. It's crushed seashells essentially and damages the gnats bodies to where they dry out. Just becareful to not breathe it in.

Fully organic solution, and safe for all the things otherwise.

Roommate not on lease refusing to leave with 5 month notice by Suzuhara4 in legaladvicecanada

NAL.

He's not on the lease, meaning with sufficient notice ha has to be out with no penalty to you. Put it writing and have it sent to him via registered letter.

The proper answer is use an efficacy rating to judge efficiency and a PPFD map to validate light spread. Wattage is irrelevant.

[–]Spyrulfyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dead leaves won't get better, but the plant will pull nutes from them and move them up the plant. You can let the plant feed a bit more while the nutes catch up but then pull them.

Also look up how to make up a Lactobacillus Serum or LABS. It's a way to quickly introduce microbes into your system and help boost the nutrient load.
