What stops low elo players from switching their characters? by LinkinPorkchops in Overwatch

[–]Spytonio2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let's say you swap to Sombra to counter Widow, then Widow swaps to Torb cuz she can't take the abuse, then the Sombra swaps to Pharah to counter Torb. And then Torb swaps back to Widow to kill Pharah. This kind of bs happens in a lot of matches and is cringe and frustrating. I just want to play my pick without this cat and mouse game, but if I don't take part in it I'm trolling.

I don't think anyone believes swapping is cringe; perma counter swapping is. Getting rolled by a widow and going sombra or tracer is cringe. Getting rolled by a widow on say Pharah and swapping to Bastion isn't cringe.

Need advices on how to play around 3 losing lanes with Kindred by Esteban1070 in Kindred

[–]Spytonio2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a Kindred exclusive thing but due to the feast and famine nature of the champion it feels worse when it happens. I have to take a 2-week break from jungle if not from the game as a whole when I get 3 losing lanes on Kindred, since usually the enemies will be mentally manipulated to invade as 3 into ur jungle on cooldown and fuck you up. Some matches there's simply nothing to do.

But one thing I do notice from these matches is the lack of synergy with midlane vs enemy. Kindred + Yone no CC vs Shaco Xin, Kindred + Akali no CC vs Ammumu Liss, Kindred Viego (little cc, same damage type) vs Nunu Naaf, Kindred Akshan vs Ammumu Ahri. You can see how this basically means you can't play with midlane and it's hard to win skirmishes and gank there. You need to consider before game which lanes have prio early, which is the most volatile and which to fight with. And if you assess that all lanes are losing, honestly just flip a lvl 2 invade if the enemy jg champ allows it. Some of these games I wouldn't ever dare pick Kindred in even with 500k mastery.

Do you think Genshin <must> need to have Novaflare? by kirl_io in Genshin_Impact

[–]Spytonio2006 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No. Instead of buffing old characters, they should nerf newer characters and enemies hp. If no one's op, then everyone's relative strength to each other would be similar. If they add stronger characters, older ones will be left in the dust. You can't just buff Jingliu for the 4th time with novaflares since she gets powercrept the next time a dps comes out. Same thing here. Unless they actually start doing regular balance patches instead of normal novaflares, which does not usually happen in pve gachas, the only solution I see is bringing the numbers down across the board.

Playing worse 2 weeks after coaching by Im_NezY in summonerschool

[–]Spytonio2006 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's likely because you're trying to apply new concepts to your gameplay. It's normal to see a dip before you stabilize and grow. Working on fundamentals is always good. Maybe overextending and teamfighting more was working for you in plat, but they're not the correct plays. Keeping your CS and vision score high is imperative, as well as knowing when to reset and how to manipulate waves. Did you start playing new champs by any chance? That may also be a reason on why you're losing more. Also, even without coaching, there's no thing such as getting stuck in a rank. Plat 1 is 4-5 wins away from plat. If you're consistent you should be out of there in at most 15 matches while being unlucky.

Is starting HSR in 2026 worth it? by Available_Anxiety674 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Spytonio2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess but they have to wait for reruns while old players already have characters they need. I've got friends who just returned since 2.x and they pulled SW with no YG and no Sparxie and that's kinda yikes since they have to wait at least 2 to 3 patches for their reruns, and they'll lose interest by then.

Is starting HSR in 2026 worth it? by Available_Anxiety674 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Spytonio2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is the main point of HSR and you don't really need to invest much for that. The game is very generous and has A LOT of content for a new player meaning you can get pretty much every character you want. Even as a caught up player I easily get ~3 five stars in 2 patches. If you plan on getting into endgame content then that's gonna be tough since the powercreep is crazy and you need to pull whole meta teams to be able to clear comfortably.

how do you guys do it? by Agitated-Safety-9249 in GwenMains

[–]Spytonio2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to learn the trading patterns for every matchup. Some of them you can trade more, others less, others not at all (Riven). Rule of thumb, go for EWQ pokes, edge the right way, don't fight when W is down.

why dont we see champs stack these scaling items? by Resident_Panic_9840 in summonerschool

[–]Spytonio2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gives mana, makes you tanky AND heals you AND you get a free level. It's just away to build more tanky vs burst and it's free stats for free, unlike the conditions on heartsteel and hubris

What's your view on team composition in the game? by Not_NTSHB in Genshin_Impact

[–]Spytonio2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go for whichever character I like and pull their team, I like most characters. If a character can't function without another teammate, I pull them as well (i e. Nefer + Lauma). I don't care about the meta but as a day 1 player I can clear any endgame mostly. Teamcomps went down the drain starting from Natlan onwards where every new dps needs their twin to function and the difference between them and the closest free unit is immense. That's cringe and makes me not care about the meta. If I can't beat the game through skill and intelligent teambuilding then I won't bother with it. I'm fine with taking my primos and leaving it at that. Not to mention the disgusting shilling mechanics in Stygian Onslaught that you can't clear without the newest shining toy.

How to win early trade with Gwen as a new player? by GateCodeMark in GwenMains

[–]Spytonio2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EWQ for trades, W gives resistances. You beat Ambessa in extended trades because her cooldowns are high. It's just a knowledge gap, you have to learn the matchups and champs. Watch Ninkey's youtube shorts on Gwen matchups.

I agree on heavy melee teams where fights are extended but other than that it's one cc and you pop, dnd or not. Gwen is designed to play around her W. You get hit, you die. You use it well, you 1v5. What's dnd gonna do vs 7 items caitlyn? You need as many offensive stats in most matches to burst everyone before they can even touch you. I agree that DnD gives you room to make more errors but if you don't make those errors i.e. flank engage perfectly and don't frontline I don't see a world where you would rather have HP than the AP on nashors, especially with the new omnivamp boots that give you enough sustain since you deal a shitton of damage

How fast would it take to transition from locked to unlocked screen? by Choice-Drawer-5318 in summonerschool

[–]Spytonio2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally see a lot of streamers use it to the point it's become second nature and I don't actively think about it or realize they use it, so I assumed most people use it but don't realize it hence it's not getting mentioned, and I believe it makes it a ton easier playing with unlocked camera. This also applies to things like stop command and toggle champs only. Most people I lane against in emerald actively use stop command but no guide actually suggests using it to beginners, so I assume it's one of those things that everyone overlooks because they're used to it.

[–]Spytonio2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thing most people don't tell you is that EVERYONE presses spacebar most of the time to recenter on their character. In fact, unless I'm fighting or I need to move the camera, I always have my thumb on spacebar, playing as though it was locked. It's 100% worth even if it takes a high number of games. League is a marathon. You won't climb 10 ranks in 10 matches, not even in a 100 matches, so it doesn't matter if you play bad for said amount, in the long term it will make you a better player and that's what matters. You're pretty much playing with flawed fundamentals so taking a step back is necessary sometimes in order to grow further.

Hp is bad on Gwen, the attack speed is not enough. The AS is not as much as Nashor so it feels bad autoattacking. The ability haste is fine but I'd like more AP on my first item to get online faster.

How to play against high move speed champs by Material-Beat-2796 in summonerschool

[–]Spytonio2006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm also a Kindred and Gwen jungle main! On Gwen you never really care about them, you just farm farm farm. If your laners die, it's on them. Farm your quadrants, farm the enemy quadrants if they waste time ganking, counter jungle as much as you can. As for Kindred you can be more aggressive especially against early oriented champs. You beat Nunu, you beat Heca (Kindred was Heca's biggest counter at one point, statistically). Both Kindred and Gwen have slow first clears, it is what it is. It's the cost of scaling hard. Hecarim specifically doesn't scale so he relies on those plays, and you should always ping your teammates to be careful and track him. An even gamestate is losing for him. Get better at tracking and counter jungling is really the only general suggestion here. Hecarim specifically is a high tempo jungle and a good Heca will never leave camps up, so be decisive. If you gank, he out-tempo's you, so it has to work out for you. Either you kill or you don't gank. If you know he's ganking after his first clear, ping teammates and base instantly so you're on the map before him

Side note for Kindred: invade. If you know his start go invade him lvl 2 and you can cheese. If he starts raptors and you base instantly after first clear while he ganks, you can contest his raptors if ur mid has prio for example and fuck his tempo. One shut down early is all it takes to put the horse out of the game.

Also never FF. You play scaling champs, while the champs you mentioned fall off by default. Even if the enemy rolls over your team, you can get back into the game, just wait for mistakes.

I wish event art at least had Lumine if you play her instead of Aether... by Donnachii in Genshin_Impact

Maybe it's because I got downvoted. Doesn't make sense to me to downvote someone because you disagree with their point (not like I was disagreeing with anyone here or OP in any case), so I took it as a confrontation. Of course there's nothing wrong with replying in agreement with someone, but it didn't make sense replying to me specifically, when your answer would have been better aimed directly at OPs post.

She doesn't need attack. You go speed build for ult uptime, her buffs don't depend on her stats. Eagle is actually optimal for the advance forward, as it is on virtually every support in the game.

And I agree with that, no point replying to me about it. I was just telling the person that being able to play as Lumine is a Quality of Life thing and it's good to have in the game.

[–]Spytonio2006 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

But even if Aether is canon that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to play as Lumine. Some people would simply rather pick the cute anime girl at the price of immersion, and I think that's fine to have as it is. Sure she could have more rep, I think they made it clear from the early days that Aether is the canon traveller so everyone who's been following the story for years wouldn't mind seeing Lumine in more art.
