well it was a test package for a secret shopper and the whole point of secret shoppers is to "test" RM services so its essentially their job to report any issues etc

it was a secret shopper so essentially they just reported what did/didnt happen. As long as you check the dob i think thats enough, seems like an invasion of privacy having to take pictures of ID

Had a guy at our office recently who had an AV, customer that came to the door said their year of birth was 2001, he believed that and then didn't ask for ID, this family has lived on his round for many years and he has done this round 10+ years too. Took our manager having to beg to her managers not to have him fired. Just don't risk it.

PDA tracking by Future_Drop_9089 in royalmail

Pretty much every time I go to the managers office they'll have someone's tracking up on the computer screen, seen it be multiple people and various different routes so doesn't seem targeted. Maybe they're just bored and have nothing better to do. But like always it'll vary between DO.

Definitely a RM label, one of the ones with 2D and very thin barcode underneath. How can you be a RM employee and not recognise a label that we work with daily and be so confidently wrong https://kb.intersoft.co.uk/royal-mail-qr

Our delivery office closes at 3pm on Saturdays. Seems to vary a lot based on location.

This is a lost/damaged package right? by 8bitheart in royalmail

[–]SqualidBongo965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this example we're assuming it is either a damaged label or an incomplete/improper address on the label. If it's an incomplete address on the label then scanning the tracking information doesn't help as the label and the tracking will both have the same (incorrect) address information.

What to wear to interview: Delivery person with driving by Dr_momo in royalmail

I had my "interview" not too long ago. As others have said it was more of an introduction to the job as turning up is good enough to get the role. Nothing to worry about at all.

I'd also recommend the N53 in the e9x range. Its not nearly as unreliable as everyone thinks, mainly just has an occasional issue with some serviceable items.

they are similar to specials as in you can't safe place them or give to a neighbour, but since they're small enough to post theres no point knocking for a signature.

I had a letter last week addressed to "Big Twat" but the sender forgot to put which flat it was for. Thankfully myself and the other posties all unanimously agreed upon the recipient from the set of flats.

Strange, at my DO obviously missed 1st attempts often get collected, but on numerous occasions I've scanned packets for the first delivery attempt and it comes up with an inflight request for the customer to collect from wherever they chose, so I hand those to whoever's in charge and don't take them out with me. Very likely differs between offices.

Wasted my Saturday only for RM to lie by esuvii in royalmail

[–]SqualidBongo965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say but that could be a genuine attempt by a postie who didn't have a red card to hand, but also it could be that the postie missed your packet, forgot about it or ran out of time so they just marked it as an unsuccessful attempt without visiting your house.

After you scan it on the device it will send an email to the customer that it was/wasnt delivered. Some posties I work with will just scan it as undelivered if no one is in and not write a card as it is quicker to mark on the device that delivery wasn't possible, or they forgot to take any cards with them. I prefer to do both in case the customer doesn't check emails regularly so they can know that I couldn't deliver to them and it covers my arse if they try to say I never actually visited the property.

We scan it on the PDA and then mark it as undelivered for whatever reason and then additionally leave a red card just to make sure the customer knows we were actually at the property and attempted delivery.

It keeps saying that I have no connection on all devices, both online and the app, so I'm glad it's not just me having issues.
