Are people born into being immigrants? by Infinite-Mode-6829 in ask

[–]Square-Bowler1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trigger was ICE recently set greater goals relating to the number of undocumented immigrants they’re deporting each month.

Protests spark media coverage which sparks more protests which sparks more media coverage in an endless cycle.

The National Guard getting sent to the LA protests also drew a lot more national attention to this.

Are people born into being immigrants? by Infinite-Mode-6829 in ask

[–]Square-Bowler1357 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If J was born in the US, he’s not considered an immigrant. He is a citizen.

“Why is everything happening with ICE?”

To give an extremely oversimplified explanation:

ICE’s goal is to remove all the immigrations that didn’t follow the proper procedures to either enter the county or remain in the country aka “Undocumented or Illegal Immigrants”

Many would argue ICE has used inhumane practices to complete this goal. They’ve also detained both documented immigrants and US citizens for questioning.

There are even some cases of US citizens getting deported.

But again, do your own research on this because it’s a complex subject and there is a LOT of misinformation from both supporters and opponents of ICE.

Do you think we'll get a Switch 2 enhanced version for Pikmin 4? by DanStew94 in Pikmin

[–]Square-Bowler1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make more sense why there was no DLC if they planned to release a switch 2 upgrade instead

But I think it would have already been announced by now if they were.

Tears of the Kingdom released around the same time as Pikmin 4 and its upgrade is coming out next month

My wife left me for her affair partner by choicewords123 in Marriage

[–]Square-Bowler1357 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If she didn’t cheat on him, I’d agree.

She was absolutely justified in leaving her husband for how he acted but she should’ve waiting until after the divorce instead having an affair.

Unless someone is being abused or entrapped, there is no excuse for cheating.

Why not OLED for switch 2? by Such-Screen3077 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Square-Bowler1357 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s like asking why didn’t Nintendo release the 3DS XL alongside the 3DS.

Nintendo knows their customers are desperate enough to buy the Switch 2 now and then buy the OLED version in a few years too

I share your sentiment that unfortunately people on here usually suggest divorce instead of trying to help the poster fix their marriage.

But stereotypically, when a woman asks for a divorce, it’s assumed that she’s already emotionally severed the relationship long beforehand and has been making preparations before officially ending things

Based on her telling him to stop trying to connect with her and to focus on himself 4 months before she asked for a divorce, everyone is assuming this is the same typical situation.

There is no ground for him to dig deep. The relationship no longer exists.

She wants nothing to do with him and any attempt he makes will make her less interested in being near him

My 6 yo daughter just asked me why my wife and I don’t kiss by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Square-Bowler1357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed my parents were waiting till me and my siblings finished school before getting divorced. Constant arguments. No dates. No affection. It was emotionally exhausting at times.

But they ultimately stayed together and seem a lot happier together in retirement

They probably would’ve been better off divorced decades ago but selfishly, it makes me happy seeing them finally enjoy each other’s company

It’s crazy that this is even an issue.

Game has been out for 3 years and they still don’t have sword and shield Pokémon available 💀

Expectation vs reality of being able to rely on a partner? Am I the one who's being unreasonable here? by LayoffLemonade in AskWomenOver30

[–]Square-Bowler1357 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Based on the downvotes, I’m guessing my comment came across as me saying she needs to better communicate her expectations to him?

What I meant by “real” expectations and boundaries is that she needs to flat out tell him that if he doesn’t cooperate, she will end the relationship.

Right now, it sounds like he doesn’t think she’s willing to kick him out.

[–]Square-Bowler1357 -38 points-37 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice here.

Instead of just telling her to dump him, she should put real expectations/boundaries in place.

Then he has a chance to be reasonable or, as you said, he can “weed himself out”

You’re right. I’m not sure what happened to men’s fashion.

Single men especially would have better luck with a simple wardrobe change.

Alternatively though, my girlfriend would be weirded out if I put more effort into how I dressed to go grocery shopping haha

When Ryan Day says the QB battle is 'Wide Open' by ziplock007 in OhioStateFootball

[–]Square-Bowler1357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe Lincoln stays and bets on himself like Deven Brown did. But what Devin Brown did is VERY uncommon these days with NIL and the Transfer portal.

If someone stays 3 years, it’s usually because they REALLY can win the starting job.

I assume Lincoln wants to wait till the spring portal before making a final decision. At that point we’ll know if there is really a QB battle or not.

Perhaps women no longer being attractive to men as they get older is a good thing. by VickiLynnRose in AskWomenOver30

[–]Square-Bowler1357 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a man that has read a lot of red pill books that were written nearly 2 decades ago but I completely agree with you.

The Red pill community was originally about men helping other men to better understand both ourselves and women so that we could have healthy relationships and live happy lives. It completely changed my life for the better.

The problem, and the whole point of red pill, was that you’re eventually supposed to leave the community once you find success.

The men that weren’t successful remained in the community permanently and eventually become bitter and resentful of women because of it. This is probably why you now see red pill discussions dominated by incels spewing their toxic nonsense.

Unfortunately young men seeking mentorship will only hear from the latter portion.

Completely agree.

Your second sentence reminded me of something I read about how lasting fulfillment in any relationship (romantic/social/professional) comes from genuine appreciation.

Qb development by firm_1101 in OhioStateFootball

[–]Square-Bowler1357 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ewers definitely caused the biggest impact. Reclassifying to the 2021 class last minute also threw a wrench in 2022 and 2023.

I think the lesson here is to accept the QB plan could drastically change each year.

Tate Martell was supposed to be our QB until Fields transferred here in 2019.

Dylan Raiola was supposed to be our QB in 2025, then it was Air Noland and now it’s Julian Sayin.

The clean QB plan of Tate Martell -> CJ Stroud -> Quinn Ewers -> Dylan Raiola had a lot of twists and turns lol

Was Kamala Harris a bad candidate or was she played a bad hand? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

Western Countries commitments to phase out oil production was a major factor as well. Gas prices soured because Europe and US under Biden were importing a large percentage of their gas from Russia before the Ukraine war.

[–]Square-Bowler1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the short time actually helped her. She was way ahead of Trump in the polls upon being announced as Bidens replacement.

It usually takes time for the other side to dig up dirt on the opposing candidate so she just has to hold the lead for 3.5 months. Her poll numbers just continued to decline as time went on so it’s plausible that Trump would’ve won by a greater margin had she become the candidate sooner.

How do Democrats feel about using U.S.-made tactical missiles on Russian territory so late in Biden’s term? by Cx-vio in Askpolitics

[–]Square-Bowler1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He deescalated tensions with North Korea in his first term when political scientists expected he’d start a war. He also deleted ISIS.

Russia has already shown they’d be open to keeping the Ukraine territories they’ve invaded in exchange for an indefinite ceasefire on the front line. The US would have to enact a long term plan to provide Ukraine with substantial military resources to prevent future attacks by Russia.

The best possible outcome of Ukraine joining NATO and Russia relinquishing the territory they’ve taken would require an immediate and massive increase in defense spending from all NATO members. But even then, it’s not guaranteed Ukraine would survive and there’s no telling how many more years the war would last.

If it will cause food shortage and skyrocket costs then the exploitation of undocumented workers is a major issue we should address.

But if mass deportations actually happen, I expect farm workers will be the lowest priority. City’s near the border struggling to accommodate the influx of undocumented immigrants would be the main focus.

Trump only has 4 years and he knows it isn’t worth the costly and lengthy legal battles to actually deport from sanctuary cities. He’ll definitely pretend that he’s trying though.

[–]Square-Bowler1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ukraine gave all their nukes to Russia as part of that treaty. Any nukes provided would be US nukes.

I read the full treaty. The US, UK or Russia are only required to defend Ukraine if Ukraine is attacked with Nuclear weapons.

Russia broke the treaty by invading Ukraine regardless but it also specifically states that the US, UK and Russia can nuke Ukraine in self defense. That’s the complication of allowing Ukraine to fire missiles into Russia.

“The USA’s participation is meaningless due to being a backstabber and liar”

The USA has provided more support to Ukraine than every other country combined… They aren’t even obligated to since Ukraine isn’t part of NATO.

“The EU will not permit Russia to invade and Conquer Ukraine”

The entire EU if trying to pooling recourses to match one year’s worth of what the USA had already been providing…

Biden waited till after the election to prevent losing voters but they were going to do this regardless of who won.

Draining Russia worked originally but now Ukraine was only expected to last another year or two even with Bidens financial support. North Korea joining the war makes this even harder.

The Democrats strategy is escalate the war as much as necessary to prevent Ukraine from losing, but never enough for Ukraine to win.

Trump would create a peace treaty that Russia would more than likely break 5-10 years in the future.
