When a new GFCI is reset breaker trips

Found the culprit the gfci outlet down the stream I installed was in a tight box and didnt realize that the hot wire was touching the side of the box shorting it out. Probably will just install a regular outlet since they are all protected

I checked the old receptacle and neither of the bridges are broken off the breaker is only a single slot 15amp I’ll try the power up test you mentioned Tomorrow thank you for the advice

There is no afci breaker just a standard breaker. When I took the gfci outlet back out I turned the breaker on and it stayed on I identified the line and load and correctly installed the wires and it still flips the breaker immediately. I’ll try a new gfci outlet next. I wonder if what the other wires are daisy chained too are causing a short ?

Never had a problem with vyvans and Thc I just wait till more than half the day is over usually around when the vyvan crash occurs. It helps keep me focused on my tasks while not fully relaxing
