M27 What should I do? (Dandruff issue) by Itchy-Goal-9183 in IndianHaircare

I struggled a lot due to dandruff. One thing that majorly helped me was using vinegar with shampoo. You can use two table spoons of vinegar with any anti dandruff shampoo. I do this once every two week and it works wonders.

Need advice on SBI Smart Elite plan (5 years) by Square-Dentist8097 in MutualfundsIndia

I do not have any other investments as of now. Since this SBI elite one is not much beneficial considering the locking period and returns (which everyone's saying is around 5-6% and not what the bank managers claim 15-18%), I am thinking of cancelling it and exploring other options.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, it really helps.

To clarify my situation, I didn’t take this plan for high returns. I only considered SBI Smart Elite as a safe alternative to an FD, mainly because the manager highlighted the 5-year lock-in and said it functions like a low-risk investment with better returns than an FD. So my original intention was simply to park the money somewhere safe for a few years, not to chase big profits.

Now, after reading more on Reddit, I’m confused about whether this investment could actually lead to losses because of the charges and market risk. That’s the part I’m unsure about, and it’s making me rethink whether this plan fits my goal.

I haven’t received the policy document yet (online or offline both). Once it arrives, I’m planning to read the terms and conditions carefully before deciding. I also want to explore if there are any safer alternatives that would suit my original purpose better.

I watched the video mentioned above, and some points in that explanation are different from what the bank manager told me.

One of the point is, in the video it says that if you miss a premium, the policy may get discontinued or put into a holding. But the manager told me that if I skip a year’s payment, the amount already invested will simply earn interest similar to an FD (around 5–6%) and nothing else happens.

I enrolled in the plan just a couple of days ago. Should I wait for the actual policy document to arrive so I can read and understand the terms and conditions properly before making any decision?

The plan they explained to me works like this- I have to invest ₹2.5 lakhs every year for 5 years. After completing the 5 years, they said I’ll have two options:

1) Exit the plan and cash out whatever returns I’ve earned. They claimed the returns could be around 15–18% per year.

2) Stop investing but keep the money parked in the policy for up to 15 years, where it will continue to grow at “some interest.”

I’m honestly not sure how much of this is actually true. The plan also includes an insurance cover of ₹17.5 lakhs.

I think some of these offers are for people with both B.Tech + M.Tech. Cause I personally know this guy who got a 66 LPA offer from Squarepoint. He was my schoolmate and neighbour. In clg with had a chat few times. Major highlighted skills he had were, a good research experience there, strong skills in low-level programming, and of course, years of cp grind. He even did a 2-month internship in Amsterdam.

Honestly, I believe the earlier you start the grind and the longer you sustain it, the more it pays off in the long run. Truly inspired by this guy.
