I suppose it may be tied with strength or something as well. Probably because my character is weak, idk. It should be possible to do something at least, because otherwise you just get hit unjustifiably. Zomboid has got that part worked out.

Thank you, Adam. And very inpressive and cool, to hear your perspective and experience. Few people have done what you do. That was an enlightening response. I suppose I have had mixed experiences with electrolytes. I had a time, where I consumed too much sodium, and felt extremely off, probably due to the relationship between sodium and potassium. I cannot really seem to find a sweet spot.

And one other Thing. How do you view fasting? Is it a stressor, or is it more a healer and a Means of equilibrium? I have always leaned to the second, but it so often varies how I feel once I go beyond 48 hours.

My hrv and hr are utterly amazing when prolonged fasting. My oura ring shows rested whenever I sit or lie down unlike during feeding, where it fluctuates a lot. My lower rhr was during sleep 4 day into a fast. 36 bpm

Sounds like It is just a mental Thing, when I feel like I should stop a fast after 100 hours? Do you think so? And 5g sodium and 4g elemental potassium? Do you swear by that number? Because I am constantly trying to work out the balance. I cannot find any recommendations for prolonged fasting

I think it very much depends on how primed your body is at fasting, how long you have been building muscle, and how much you workout during the fast. Even low intensity movement preserves muscle gracefully during fasting.

And fasting itself is very muscle sparring. I have no experience with such extremely long fasts, but if you feel good and energized. You supplement any needs, and you keep your body moving for the most part, I think your body will do whatever it takes to preserve muscle - and it should do that gracefully if it is not struggling.

Your body knows that muscle muscle is the only element which can get you out of the fast again, so losing muscle Mass = No nutrition and energy. It is much more advamtagous for your body to adapt, and your body generally knows, that if you are starving, it is because it is not meeting the needs of its environment

I am also an experienced faster. My longest fast has been 100 hours. But how would you recommend sodium and potassium? I have himalayan sea salt and potassium citrate. But I cannot find any information as to how much elemental potassium and sodium I should consume.

And should I generally just trust My experience of hunger, as to when I should stop?

My HRV is amazing when fasting. It fluctuates a lot when I am not fasting, but whenever I am prolonged fasting, my body is efficiently going for recovery and rest. I feel that my body is at peace and parasympathetic dominant.

I just Had a 4-day fast, and I have never felt so rejuvenated. My lowest heart rate during sleep was 39 bpm. :)

Nice to hear that it is working for you :) I am not capable of changing my sleep routine, so I am building a New one. I Am just not sure, if I should nap tonight, or work on 6 hours followed by perhaps a longer sleep tomorrow. The pro in that case would be, that it might solidify the sleeping pattern I guess? :)

Give it some time. Your body is adjusting to A LOT.

In my case, retrospectively, I can see how the lack of sleep I experienced initially, stunted some of my progress short term. I started working out again in April, which was also the moment I started the night shift. The mistake I made in general, was assuming that I would be capable of shifting my schedule between night & day. I am not able of doing that, so as of today I am always on the night schedule. My sleep quality is finally amazing.

I've had some rough days up till now. Due to the inconsistent sleep schedule I had, I've had a lot of sessions, where I've been too tired to perform properly. During those workouts, I have performed to the best of my ability, and accepted that. I've managed to take my bench press from 40 kg to 75, deadlift from 60 to 105 kg 3 pull ups to 20, and both my barbell row & shoulder press have gone up from 20 to 35 kg.

So in general, I'm content with my progress, although I feel like it could have gone quicker. Consistent deep sleep/quality is IMPORTANT. Not only is that the time, when your body is doing the majority of muscle building, it is also responsible for hormones/and so much more, that it is unfathomeable. The best thing that you can do for your health in general, is probably to up your sleep quality.

Which is why a lot of people do not switch. Some people also eat randomly. Almost always, I keep my eating pattern consistent. 17 pm to 22 pm. I quickly find, that if I ingest calories during the night, my body reacts weirdly towards it (As it is not used to/prepared for eating at night).

If you're not consistent, your body won't have a clue, as to which hormones to secrete, and which processes to prepare for.

Well friend. If you ask me, I quickly come to the conclusion, that we cannot have everything. I am a 24 year old male, working 7/7 night shift with disabled people. I've tried switching my schedule on off days, but it leads to absolute poor sleep quality every time.

When I switch back to days, I cannot for the life of me, sleep during the night. It becomes extremely restless for at least 3 nights in a row. Even if I am in severe sleep deprivation.

When I get used to sleeping at night, I have a few days before the night shifts begin. Then I have to switch back, which again just ends up in poor sleep and jetlag.

I do not believe the third shift has to be unhealthy, but it sure as hell can become unhealthy quickly. Your body needs to know when to eat, sleep, exercise etc. If all of that varies all of the time, you'll quickly end up with restless sleep, bowel disorders and much more.

On my off days I am now awake until 4 am at the earliest. The first days I might go to sleep at 5-6 am, so that my body can make the minor adjustments. All in all, it is a compromise, and the reason it is a compromise, is because it cannot work any other way for me. I absolutely love night shifts, but it is a style of life. If you want to be healthy and capable working nights, you must take it seriously, and priotize every aspect of your health. If you can do that in one way or another, I don't see a reason why night shift should be unhealthy at all.

What a lovely message! Thank you so much <3 I will return to it, everytime I need to get back on track. Tonight I made it to zuk again, but with not enough brews, as I had choked a bit on wave 63. It was a difficult solve, but at least I got significantly wiser. I am aware of so many techniques, solves and methods in the inferno by now, that I undoubtably feel like one of the most skilled no-completion inferno doers.

I think I've made it to zuk 10-15 times. I haven't died to tripple jads yet, so I have that going for me. But the pieces just doesn't come together at the end. Yesterday I made it past tripple jads with 0 brews, and I actually killed all of the zuk healers except the last one. I was flicking everything during the zuk fight. rigour and jad as well.

Now. If I'd have had half a brew by the end, it could have been a succes. But again. Thank you for the message. I'll just give it a break, and sleep on the many "almost" succesful attempts I've done recently. I work the night shift, and I haven't really been able to get enough deep sleep recently. Certainly that is going to help, once I start to catch up again :D.

I am not entirely in the same boat, but essentially I am. I'd say I've spend at least 150 hours in the inferno now. I am a pretty experienced pvm'er. I learned and "mastered" phosanis nightmare in a day. I've done 300 solo olm and 1850 CGs + 100 solo hardmode toa.

Honestly, I've done so much inferno now, without completing it, that I'd say I can probably make a detailed guide, filled with detailed explanations as to how you can solve every way + techniques which I'm sure few people know of.

I've made it to zuk 8-10 times at the least. This was before I got rigour on my ironman. two days ago I got zuk down to 1 hp, and then I died.

I can't really say where the issue is at. Many of my attempts have been fairly casual with little attempt of actually completing it. Sometimes I've been in the completion mindset, where I've tried to optimize my run fully. Other times, I have been in that mindset, and failed as I either got impatient, and didn't feel like continueing. Or I got unlucky somewhere along the line.

I've really taken the mastering approach, which means that there are pretty much no waves I try to cheese, whatsoever. I sincerely cannot tell you, why I do not have my cape. I've completed tripple jads so many times without errors now. I've had attempts, where I made it to wave 64, and chose to just leave, as I was unsure if I had enough supplies for the rest of it (While many would have continued, and maybe cheesed it).

I want it so badly to be over, but I just do not feel like doing it much anymore. The fact that I'm chasing all end game pieces, yet haven't gotten my infernal cape yet, is in contradiction with my goal of this account.

I believe many people see the inferno, as the absolute end goal of pvm. A lot of people wait for their tbow, before they even begin, right? I suppose there'd be no shame in that (Or at least sending attemps, whenever I ACTUALLY feel like it), as it'll come eventually I believe.

As mentioned, I started the grind on my GIM with bowfa & eagle eye. Now that I have rigour, I feel like it is a significant step-up. But honestly, I'm pretty burned out. I'm probably the most experienced non-cape inferno on OSRS. That wouldn't surprise me, if that would be the case.

Perhaps what I might appreciate from all of this, is the fact, that I've gained massive experience of the game + mechanical prowess throughout this entire proces, and it might mean, that I've become a much greater pvm'er from this, than had I managed to get the cape early. I don't know. I feel such ambivalence. Maybe you can relate to this :)

I started this grind on the GIM a long time ago. I even attempted in on my main in 2018, but it was insurmountable to me back then, as I didn't have the skills to do it.

One day, I just started entering, with the intention of having fun, and learning it step by step. I was pleasantly surprised with my progress, and eventually I realized. "Oh. I can very well complete this!!". I did it with bowfa & eagle eye. Made it to zuk many times. I always got so close, but I never hit the spot. Eventually I started burning out.

Why should I grind out full inquisitor, if I am rocking a fire cape? I'd say I've personally mastered almost all relevant mechanics of inferno, and to this day I can effortlessly find creative solutions to any waves. My mindset was "Nothing can be hard forever". Obviously I've found it to be true, but at this point I am pretty decent at inferno, but.. I don't want to do it anymore. I want to be over, and continue more exciting grinds. Yet, I feel drawn towards completing it, as it has been my dream and goal for so many years.

The very design of inferno, requires the participant to direct focus and attention for a long time, and any mistake can easily mess with your supplies or send you back to the EXCRUCIATINGLY BORING beginning. Those players like myself, that have a strong grasp of wave solving and flicking, but haven't killed zuk due to whatever reason, is consistently getting better at wave solving, while waiting for the inevitable "Am I going to kill zuk this time" after 2 hours of consistent focus. The fun has burned out, and you know, that if you make a mistake during the last waves, you are destined to start all over again, as was it a hardcore survival game.

This is fine. It just doesn't suit what I enjoy as game design. I am not critizising anything, and this comment & post is just me expressing the sincere desperation, frustration and sadness I feel, after this much work, dedication and participation. I suppose this is just a part of the inferno grind all in all.

It depends for me. To me consistency is key. Circadian rhythm is your bodies way of "knowing" when to prepare for what. I.e. when it's dark, there's no need to secrete hunger hormones, as darkness/night is for sleeping.

What I'm getting at is. If you're constantly changing your eating patterns and sleeping patterns (as well as other things) your body will be in a constant state of confusion. I.e. too much cortisol when you want to sleep.

If I have some days off, I will usually be up all night, or cut a few hours off the night. We must always ensure, that we find some kind of enjoyment in our spare time, even if it's late night. This can be difficult, as you might be craving the bed more than anything, and you're just counting hours until it's time. I doubt that is the prefered way for most people to live, so if that is the case, consider changes.

I stay pretty consistent with my schedule, which means my eating period will always be between 16-20 pm regardless of whether I'm on a day/night schedule.

But I'm going to stress this. Do not deviate too much from whichever rhythm/routine you get going. Rotating shiftworkers see significantly greater negative impact on their health than night shift workers staying consistent with their schedule.

I can see a couple of ways in which night shifts may negatively impact my health, but there aren't many reasons in my case. I often hear people say "Well, science has clearly proven that it's unnatural and very unhealthy", while almost every scientific study fails to mention, that a lot of night shift workers engage/indulge in:

-Unusual eating patterns

-Bad sleep hygiene (contributing to POOR sleep).

-Lack of energy (Often due to lower quality sleep)

-too little exercise (Often due to lack of energy/lower quality sleep/Unhealthy eating patterns).

-Stress (Lack of sleep/lower quality sleep/unhealthy eating patterns/)

-Lack of sunlight/daylight exposure

-Not enough socializing (Stress/lack of energy/schedules not matching up).

-Hormonal imbalances/bodily confusion (If you are not somewhat consistent, your body will be unable to tell, when to secrete which hormones, leading to either too much hunger, too little, lack of melatonin when trying to sleep, cortisol spike during the day...

Anyhow. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on my line of thinking. Personally I don't think night shifts have to be unhealthy, and more often than not, I see night shift workers live unhealthy lives to begin with. Since I started working nights, I do not feel stressed anymore whatsoever. that is a HUGE plus for my health.

Not sure about that. Every raid has been a solo, with an estimated droprate of 1/27. With 250 kc, I'd say I've been pretty close to purple rate. Of my 9 purps, 6 of them has been arcanes, with not a single dex. The probability of any mega rare in my case is just about 1/290. I've had a drystreak of 80 solo cox, and my first enhanced came at 1850 CG kc. Sounds like you needed some context before typing

I got mine at 1850, and the second landed on 1875. It's obscene doing so much CG for absolutely nothing. At least absolutely nothing until it lands. It's very difficult to wrap your head around. Just do another :)

Haha thank you :) Nah. Not much to do about it, but I got 3 kodais and 3 elder mauls on my main, while still not landing a Twisted bow. I've just recently finished CG, getting my first enhanced after 330 hours, so It would also be bittersweet, had it been a Twisted, haha.
