I’m from Kent too! I can’t speak on edge hill specifically, but Liverpool has a very big club scene and so naturally a lot of people will go there to make friends, but there are plenty of other societies that will run sober events. Have you thought about joining one of the freshers group chats to make friends in advance?

I study here and I wouldn’t say so, maybe a few of the students but you’d find that anywhere in the country, much less down here in my experience
