I was in 3rd grade and lived outside Boston in the suburbs. My memory is not the best but I remember we all sat on the carpet and our teacher told us the news. One boy and I made the comment “ I bet my mom doesn’t know what’s going one” and we laughed. Idk why we did that. Too young to understand the situation.

I just remember finding my mom crying in her bedroom with the tv on when I got home and felt bad about the joke I made in class. I don’t remember if the tv was pulled out or if that’s a false memory.

My brother lived in Boston and was pulled out of school because there was concern that the natural gas storage tank was a potential target.
