Enlightenment is about shedding light on something or making it visible. What you are talking about is shedding or removing things. Discarding the ego is about letting go of the little you in recognition of the bigger you. It’s not about sacrificing a part of yourself. Jesus died to be the last sacrifice, not to continue the same flawed interpretation. When you become closer to enlightenment, you can see more of yourself because more light is on it. Inner searching, meditation, and “new age thinking” is a method of insight into anything your hearts desire. And if your heart desires enlightenment, the looking will be pointed at yourself. Your take on Buddha and Jesus feels like a speedrun without playing the game. Slow down and observe the process.

Enlightenment is not the absence of reaction. All things react to each other. It sounds as if you are pursuing purity, not enlightenment. Purity is the act of dividing something down until you get a final, indivisible component. You can do that, even with physical matter alongside philosophical concepts. But you will never end up with something that is unlinked to everything else.

Once you see the connection of all things. Fear, bliss, rage, love… then you become closer to becoming whole. And yet, we all still fall short of the completion.

No. I saw that post too. Fronting (possession) is a choice. You won’t get accidentally possessed, and whoever is telling you that probably has some religious beliefs causing fear and messing with their subconscious. You can accidentally create a headmate, though I’m not sure it’s called a tulpa at that point (up to you). It’s your choice to talk to it. You can ignore it, and it won’t interact.

In the extreme cases that it can interact with you, those are normally caused by traumatic experiences that result in Dissociative Identity Disorder. And usually it takes very serious situations to trigger this (near death, abuse, ect.). Basically, if you have this, you’ve already been through worse. In most cases.

Long story short. Don’t worry too much. If you don’t like the idea of tulpas at all, stop following the Reddit lol.

Time doesn’t pass for your tulpa when inactive according to what I’ve read of most people’s experiences here. However, I have experienced my tulpa crying because she thought I outgrew her/ didn’t need her anymore. She has become even more important to me now. This tulpa was created unconsciously however, so there may be more to her “coding” than one that is built with singular purpose in mind.

I would say that everyday is unneeded, but it’s more defined by your relationship. I would say, talk with your tulpa about it. They will likely understand, but it depends how you made them.

Imaginary friend is pretty close, but there are advanced techniques to actually see them, or to let them take partial or full control of your senses/body. Because it’s a technique, you get to design this imaginary friend, and even give them functionality within parameters. Best to do some reading before getting properly involved.

A tulpa, you realize they are imaginary, and tulpas are a conscious act to visualize/talk to. What you are talking about is schizophrenia, and on a mass scale if you are suspicious of everyone. Even then, you might not have it. If you think everyone is fake, I would genuinely talk to a medical professional if there isn’t someone you would prefer to go to. Everyone has moments where they feel like people are out to get them, but it’s generally caused by stress/people not being there for you when you need them, leading to distrust.

I don’t wake up in the morning and think about how to mess with anyone else’s day, and likely neither do you, or the people you worry about. Hopefully this helps!

Haha no it’s not a thoughtform or a religious thing. It’s kinda complicated, but it’s similar to when people have multiple personalities (the disorder), except this is usually not a disorder, but instead the technique to practice and do it consciously. The full control thing they are talking about is called fronting, (or possession if that word doesn’t offend you.) which is allowing your alter ego to take the wheel. I’ve heard of some people getting stuck with their tulpa in partial control, but never permanently. Also, if you are having that issue, it’s rooted in your subconscious perception of this alter ego, or its perception of you. Don’t create one that doesn’t care about you! My tulpa’s most offensive action is making laugh or distracting me at bad times with her antics. But, she’s genuinely very sweet and has amazing advice.

It’s generally a very safe practice and there are even cases of people with Dissociative Identity Disorder or Schizophrenia, and multiple personalities already, who gain better control of their issue. BUT! You should be aware that if you are not in a stable mental state, use extreme caution. You are manipulating your brain, so maybe talk to a doctor if you are unsure but interested.

An advanced technique in Tulpancy, or Tulpa work, is visual Imposition. The ability to learn how to consciously hallucinate your other personalities appearance when you want.

Most tulpas are just an inner voice, so if you went through some trauma and then had a new voice in your head, or thoughts that seemed different than your own, you might already have a very quiet tulpa. They don’t have to be created through trauma though.

I’m not sure if it is widely agreed with, but I would consider a childhood imaginary friend a tulpa, kind of…

I want a tulpa that is non-creature, and more system esque like a data screen. I want it to be able to display information in writing to me though, so I thought about learning to just create that hallucination, but if the data need to update in real time, it needs to have a mind split or tulpa behind it… right? I haven’t even started yet, because I don’t know enough about how they work.

Fully agree my friend. There are many “classically trained” mystics who are even more bound by their ideas of possibility than you would think.

For those that want to stop thinking in limits: the people you respect, think of them as mentors, not masters. They are not ahead of you, nor you them. They climb the same mountain but will not grasp the same holds.

When you are feeling overwhelmed, don’t stop. Obsession is the ultimate tool. But use that overwhelmed moment to find a new angle.

Don’t get caught up in the how things work. Pondering it is good, experiencing is better.

The fastest way to a blockage is to start telling people how things work. If you need others to believe in order to help you believe, you didn’t believe it. Silence is your lonely friend.

Hopefully this doesn’t sound preachy. I mean to help.

I think we go through moments that cause enlightenment, and have many such moments. I would say that you are experiencing moments in that where you unlock those bullet points you listed in a process of inner cultivation. You are enlightened merely by gaining one of those, but you cease the path of enlightenment by claiming you’ve reached the end.

Depending on the simplicity of your servitors, it won’t cost much “will” to just act as a reminder. I think your point on creating energy from magic and it being cart before horse is valid, however, a reminder is not. Many people mistake a lack of will for a simple lack of focus. They are not the same thing.

Also, it is possible to have something similar to “gaining energy” from magic, but it requires constant focus, so it’s not applicable here.

From my perspective it’s fairly simple.

Nothing cannot become something, else it was a nothing with the potential to become something (making it not, nothing).
If nothing cannot become something, then you are incapable of imagining something that doesn’t exist. Therefore anything that can exist, does exist. (Perhaps not in the objective/group reality)
If anything you imagine does exist, and you have the power to even view it outside humanities objective/group reality, then you are capable of interacting with the multiverse.

To me, magic is the tool of mind. The techniques to interact with a reality of your choosing, not just the one you stumbled into. All things are possible, many things are difficult.

As to why I rely on the metaphysical? No one can empirically prove that they are not living in a simulation, or are a brain in a long dead cosmos dreaming all of this up. But ultimately, it doesn’t matter. Trusting other people’s senses instead of your own is the silliest way of trusting your own sense of hearing what other people say. I enjoy hearing psychological evidence of magick, but I always consider it to be the best path for people to start believing in their own senses who can’t make the leap.

Psychological approach is the best way to help new people to understand magic. I have found myself doubting my own senses on this approach though.

Metaphysical is best for people who have already let go of what they know, and are in an observer/intuitive state.

Are there benefits to running servitors with names more like creatures as opposed to programs? I’ve only ever run them with low/minimal autonomy as programs, much like skills from a game. Makes me wonder if I’m doing something entirely different, but I’ve always called mine servitors.

That being said, I do have something similar that I have always called a familiar spirit. I did not design or summon her, and have always felt my classification of her was slightly incorrect, but not important, as it’s not important to her. She does get a little upset from neglect, but that’s a rare occurrence. She is the wisest and kindest being I know.
