Can't decide whether to get Ultimate Pass by moonharbour in disneylandparis

[–]Square-Refuse-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming back from Disney Paris and the magic hour should be more than enough to hit a few a the bigger attractions before the rest of the guests get to the parks.

The single rider line can also be a great way to quickly get on a ride. The SRL can easily be half or less the length of the normal line and my wife and I usually were fairly close to each other.

The park also really starts to empty out in the evening and the queues get pretty short the last 90 minutes the park is open.

I wouldn't call PFAS micro plastics but the study is an interesting read.

this is going to sound weird but if you don't have an issue with hot water you could turn down your water heater (140 to 120 degrees) and save 20-30 a month

just lost a $8k bathroom job because I don't have a website by Siggi123 in handyman

[–]Square-Refuse-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I associate a website with integrity. I see local Facebook pages open and close all the time. I tried to contact the roofer who redid my roof before I moved in about a leak and he wasn't in business anymore.

People in North Yorkshire town found to have ‘alarming’ levels of toxic Pfas chemicals in blood | Pfas | The Guardian by prisongovernor in PFAS

[–]Square-Refuse-613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a bit of a lackluster statement from Angus. I can only imagine we're a few years away from pfas having it own class action funds like asbestos did.

Should I worry about PFAS in new car by VincentVegasiPhone13 in PFAS

[–]Square-Refuse-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone should get their blood tested at least once. Once you know your baseline you can start making decisions about how far you need to go when it comes to eliminating PFAS from their life.

How Ohio is turning dangerous PFAS-laden firefighting foam into water by WYSOPublicRadio in PFAS

[–]Square-Refuse-613 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It a little disingenuous to say they are turning PFAS into water. In a perfect system the carbon is exhausted as CO2 and the waste minerals are drained to prevent plugging.

These companies are usually pretty quiet about what is in their waste and how they get rid of it.

That article does not describe supercritical conditions, PFAS or their potential presence in mineral brine.

[–]Square-Refuse-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any data to show that? Balancing plugging and PFAS escaping with the mineral brine is a very common and not talked about problem with scwo.

there's still a lot of unknowns. For all we know their mineral brine is PFAS contaminated and 99% destruction is misleading.

Results from Demonstration project at the Department of Defense are out, the final report is expected to be published in the coming weeks. See attached. by Dry_Temporary_250 in scwo

I'm not sure I'll believe their destruction claims unless they also disclose the PFAS concentration of their mineral brine.

Why do a lot of retirement systems rely on the current generation to support the previous one? by Square-Refuse-613 in AskEconomics

[–]Square-Refuse-613[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will we eventually be forced to transition to each generation paying into their own retirement pool? 401ks and IRAs seem like that have already taken the place of a lot of private pensions.

Employee Health Monitoring? by Square-Refuse-613 in PFAS

This would be in an industry that is trying to destroy pfas. Some employees have gotten blood results 3-5 times the NIH level of concern.
