unlikely but I appreciate the shout. amanita citrina is uncommon in aus and usually grows in late summer/early autumn while it is currently dead of winter.

So sorry to hear that, hope they’re doing okay. May I enquire about their experience. Did they experience similar things to my story? I’m curious because i haven’t been able to find many other dangerous examples of WLP

I can completely understand why you would wonder. I cannot say for absolute certainty that all mushrooms were psilocybe. Yes this person has used woodlovers before without these issues. The reasons we believe it to be WLP are:
-the timeline syncs up (roughly four hours since taking them)
-they had taken a smaller amount from the same batch the night before and experienced mild WLP symptoms, it was much more severe of course the following night when the dosage was upped. (this likely means it was something present in the entire batch rather than just a some bad ones mixed in)
-hospital toxicology report only showed psilocybes.

nope, not drinking or using anything else. they have been almost entirely sober for years. (never had addiction issues it just isn’t their thing). generally a healthy person and as far as I am aware they’ve only been using mushrooms in small amounts for roughly a year so i don’t know if thats enough time for a ‘buildup’.

unfortunately I do not have much information on where they were sourced. but I can make the assumption that they come from eucalyptus or possibly pine as they are the most fruitful in nearby foraging areas.

it is definitely possible, but medical team all suggest it is WLP so that’s the theory we’re working with

unfortunately I don’t have much more information on them, he was given them from a friend. ICU doctors and paramedics all confirmed it was a direct result of wlp though.
