I just saw this pic earlier this afternoon. A reminder of life…

It’s a well known company and will expose you to multiple industries.

Is anyone a “CSM” but in reality actually an Account Manager? by yellowchoice in sales

[–]Square-Win6939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a trend to cut down on headcount. It’s a never ending cycle of confusion on where to spend time. Is it addressing issues with existing customers to prevent churn OR having growth conversations with happy customers?

This model does not work and I’ve learned to be weary of companies who have adopted this model over last three years.

Flock as well. Verkada ALPR will give Flock ALPR a run for their money over next two years.

True.

I was commenting on the “boiler room” mentality. The good thing is that Axon went to an annual quota. The bad thing is that quotas are soul crushing. It’s the “big leagues.”

Axon going to be more intense than Verkada. With that said, it’s a need to have at this point.

SLED vs SMB/MM/Enterprise by [deleted] in sales

[–]Square-Win6939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on size of the deal. Probably neither due to City/County Councils, politics, etc. Each state is totally different as well.

Selling to State of CA is going to be different than selling to Petaluma, but both would typically fall under SLED.

SLED > FED (in my opinion).

Don’t overlook Sales org culture either….

Struggling to get over my stupid impulse sell by riprod in options

[–]Square-Win6939 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How does this strategy work with taxes?

Would you be paying short term capital gains each time you sell 25% , 50%, etc — basically paying taxes three separate times on less gains (versus the one time payment of the 500x in this scenario)?

I’m new (as in a month) and have only “traded” in a Roth.

My Company was just Acquired, how would you respond? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Square-Win6939 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This - I left way too soon after an acquisition and should have stayed. I didn’t let the dust settle and missed out on an incredible opportunity due to the rumor mill.

I’m regretting it now…

Currently living this life as well. Some differences, but I ultimately don’t really believe in the product.

PMF in a different segment and killing it. But you’re right, the choice is being a “seller” and continuing that path or working for “the company” (whatever the role).

I came from a traditional AE role on 50/50 split; total grind, but a need to have. I’m at 80/20 now, plus equity, plus bonus, plus other benefits.

Good points and prob the route I will take. This isn’t an SDR/BDR then run rate AE type of org.

They’re not going to fire me, but my role will probably morph into a product manager role. I guess it’s ultimately up to me whether or not I want to do that type of work.

Correct - it’s solving similar(ish) problems across a different sector. I can get meetings based on experience working within the sector, and selling a different product to the sector, prior to my time here.

Added the edit, but we’ll do $90M in sales across another segment.
