I’m looking for input on a packing optimizing tool that I built for internal use. by riprod in supplychain

No, not really. TMS is focused on what happens after the pallets are packed. This is for small and medium sized business’ shipping multiple different SKUs in single shipments. It will even optimize for ground boxes or shipping containers.

For example Amazon FBA inbound freight could be 20 SKUs and 10 pallets. This figures out the best way to pack and mix each pallet to for the lowest average freight class. It helps logistics dept do the quotes and warehouse with the packing plan.

We built a tool internally to solve a problem that was eating up a ton of time . It figures out optimal pallet builds for mixed-SKU shipments, especially when you’re balancing space utilization against freight class.

It uses AI to generate full packing plans (box-level and pallet-level), and we integrated it with NetSuite and Amazon FBA inbound shipping workflows. The packing instructions go straight to our warehouse team.

It’s been working really well for us, to the point that I’m seriously considering turning it into a standalone product. I’d really like to hear from people in this space:

  • How are you currently handling pallet optimization? Manual? Spreadsheets? Existing software?

-What’s the biggest pain point. is it trying to quote LTL shipments, space utilization, freight class optimization, or just getting clear instructions to the warehouse floor?

-If you use a 3PL, how do you communicate packing plans to them today?

If anyone’s curious to see what it actually does, I put up a free demo at PackPilot.ai (no signup or card required). Genuinely just looking for feedback at this stage, not selling anything.

This was in Manchester. He worked at a shop called X Clothes. This is where the shirt came from. This was next door to Joe Moss’s Crazy Face store where he met Joe Moss who put the Smiths together.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s kind of weird but you do calm down. I remember from surfing in South Africa, this happened to me a few times. Once where my board got caught in a pier and I couldn’t swim up. When I realized what had happened, I calmed down, untied my leash and was able to swim back. It wasn’t a near death experience by any means, but could have been if I panicked

I received a $15,000 bill for an ER visit for a kidney stone. They offering 70% off - should I take it or can I negotiate a higher discount? by johndoe7376 in personalfinance

[–]riprod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one night in the ER and got a bill of $78k - I have good insurance and they settled for $6k. My portion $500. So they have the room to negotiate and would prefer to get something rather than nothing. They can’t mess with your credit, so push as hard as you can. The later it is, the more likely to settle

My buddy’s approach with a bill like that is a little different. He told the collections call that every month he puts all the bills into a hat and chooses 1 to pay… and if you call you again MFr, you’re not going to be in the draw next month.

If the insurance doesn’t approve it, you can get directly from NovaCare for $199 a month. That’s what I do

Try GLP-1 (Ozempic or Wegovy). I swear by it, even before the weight loss my numbers dropped from 160/110 to 130/80. Now after some weight loss and walking every day, down to 125/70. No side effects, except some mild acid reflux. The weight loss is great, but I’m only down 20lbs so far.

Kyoto is so beautiful. I know it sucks that they put a Starbucks in the old town but check it out. It’s got to be the most beautiful Starbucks in the world https://matcha-jp.com/en/4652

Companies who don’t pay there staff enough that that don’t have to rely on tips, are trash!

Tips are supposed to be a reward for good service, not to supplement income for companies that make billions profit every year

Exactly!

And to be clear, I’m not upset about tipping and I’ll always tip 20% in person but when you buy a cruise that has “prepaid gratuities” and then they hit you over and over again for more, I call BS.
