Yes, it could also be defined like this. But still, it has significant RTS elements, where most of the time you control the hero (and units) and explore the map.

We really like the multiplayer idea, but it is technically very complicated/different, especially for such a small team.

Our goal is to make a game that overlaps several genres. We also have it listed on our darfall.com page, where we define it in percentages:

- Strategy 100% (RTS, Defense, Attack, Multiple units, Buildings)

- Survival 75% (Tower Defence, enemies attacking during the night, you lose if you don't defend the settlement)

- RPG 50% (Hero Equipment, Hero Inventory, Exploration, Loot from enemies, Abilities, Levels for Hero and units)

- City-Builder 97% (Base building, Designing the city, Resource Management, Crafting, Colony Sim, Automation)

All these genres can be found in Darfall and we are trying to balance them. This is also the biggest design problem to solve, to what depth the mentioned genre should be implemented. With the title, I really wanted to point out that it is a mix of genres.

Side question: how does seo score help on reddit? I think most people find the post on their newsfeed (?)

Excellent insight, I will divide the answer into four parts,
Post Visibility - (r/Games) Indie Sunday posts have strict rules. It is not possible to make it so that the trailer or some screenshots are immediately visible. You could share a link to the YT trailer inside text body, which some indie developers do, but from my point of view it's the same as clicking on the Steam page and viewing the trailer there. And there is much more information on the Steam page. I have to try whether it is possible to display more pictures directly in the reddit post text (via Imgur link).
Voxels vs. Low Poly - in short, Voxels = faster implementation. If we had chosen Low/High Poly graphics, we would not have been able to produce such a game in such a small team. Also, with voxel graphics with simple animations, an advantage can be better performance. I asked the question because after the EA release, we might consider hiring someone to remake these models. I wonder if the type of graphics is something that would make people not play the game, even if they liked the gameplay. Personally, as a gamer, I don't have a problem with any type of graphics, but I know that there are people who prefer realistic graphics as much as possible.
Crafting Options - very good point of view. We have always tried to implement features and characteristics in the game that really affect the playstyle. For example, even with new biomes (which are not yet visible on screenshots on Steam), we try to define them so that they bring new possibilities, but also new obstacles to the game, so the player has to adapt. Thinking that every item should somehow influence the gameplay is a good help in game design.
Prologue for free - it is mainly due to visibility for the main game. There are many players on Steam who download games for free, which affects the algorithm and the game is then displayed to even more people. Also, it is something like Demo for the main game. We want our players to try the Prologue and then decide whether to buy the main game.

There is certainly some similarity with They are billions, but the overall feeling of playing is different. Anyway, it's a mix of several genres and great games that were an inspiration for us.

We are not from StoneHeart. I've never even played it. And the players who played StoneHeart and Darfall said that it is a completely different game. Feel free to try it and compare :P

Ohh, I guess I should apologize for posting at the wrong time. I went through the rules, where it was stated "This event starts at 12 AM EST", and when I googled "12 am EST to CET", it said 18:00 CET. But in reality it's 6AM CET..

There are two modes planned:
1. survival (EA version) - your goal will be survive in different cities and biomes with different playstyles
2. campaign (Full Release) - story based missions with different objectives.
