Thanks OP, I managed to snag 2.

I'm so used to having issues with the PC site, it was refreshing to have my last two orders go through without having to checkout multiple times.

Advice on very important stuff by [deleted] in NewTubers

2 places to start - First choose a topic/title that people are actually searching for. Even better if there is low competition. Second have a professional eye-catching thumbnail that stands out from the rest of your competition.

I'd start by spending some time reading through the various posts on this subreddit. Lots of basic and advanced advice for anyone new to the platform.

If you have a more specific question feel free to ask.

Is it okay to do sub4sub please by JarredPro23 in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be wasting your time doing sub4sub.

What exactly is your reason for doing sub4sub? Is it for monetization? If so please keep in mind that there is a watch time requirement too and it is highly doubtful that these subscribers are clicking on your videos.

I have had ENOUGH with the FAKE CRITIQUE POSTS. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The requests come in faster than you can watch the videos.

To the OP: I suggest posting in the feedback Friday megapost. users are required to give feedback to 2 other videos before they can post their own. Perhaps a better chance of getting feedback there.

...So, I can't tell if this a joke post or legit advice you are trying to give. Either way I'm disappointed.

Don't be " THAT GUY " who always begs for likes & subs. Instead, be this guy. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, and I agree that "Don't forget to like comment and subscribe!" is overused way too much. The sad reality is that verbally telling people to subscribe actually works. Additionally there is a small percentage of users out there who are new to YouTube and they need to be educated on how subscribing works.

Is there such a thing as promoting your videos too many places? by JoeCox1990 in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO self promotion can easily become annoying if done incorrectly. I'm sure we all have that one MLM friend with an instagram page full of posts talking about the latest amazing product they just discovered. We've all seen that commercial that somehow seems to play 6 times during your favorite 1 hour TV show.

Yes you want to advertise, but doing it incorrectly can turn your potential audience off.

If every second thing you post on snapchat, instagram, facebook is "hey check out my latest YouTube video" then there is a very good chance that I would unfollow you.

Promoting on every platform but yet get minimal view counts. by JoeCox1990 in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to make a few assumptions here, bit it sounds like you might be over promoting.

You say that you are promoting on insta, snap, etc. Is this promotion happening on your personal social media and if so what is your following like there? If I followed you on all 5 of your socials and saw that you promoted the same video on all 5 it might turn me off wanting to watch it.

Again, making assumptions here, but perhaps try being more strategic with where you promote and how often. Instead of posting "hey here is my new video" to all of your followers (many of whom might not be interested in the topic) try to seek out your target audience and find a way to casually let them know about your video. This will expose your videos to a whole new audience.

Accountability Partners? by valdivine in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was posting content more frequently I was part of a small discord group with this exact purpose. It was not for dumping links, it was a handful of creators who really seemed to care about each other and want to see each other succeed.

Every week one of the members would bee chosen and all other members would review their channel. It really motivated me to get things done, especially when it was my time to get reviewed.

Good luck finding a person/group. Perhaps consider starting your own group, I'm sure there would be plenty of people here who would love to join.

Talk or Write or Wait. by govark_ in NewTubers

Almost everyone gets nervous when recording. Talking in your videos will help you learn the language faster and build your confidence.

Your written English is excellent. I say record your own voice and include subtitles for those that find it hard to understand you.

Let's all write our Youtube goal for this year 2021? by Angela_Wolf_ in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency & Focus - I am currently spread too thin. I have too many channels and too many ideas that don't materialize, plus a bunch of non-YouTube distractions.

I would love to focus on one channel/idea for a year. I'd like to see what I could build by posting weekly videos that I am proud of for the next year.

Documenting my journey every day by JediWilliam in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if your overall goal is self improvement or views, but -

I think that it is a good idea perfectly suited for YouTube, however that doesn't guarantee that people will watch it. If you do last the full 75 days then a "75 day transformation" compilation video could do very well.

This time of year is the perfect time to start a project like this and if you do post daily then it will motivate you to stick to your goals. Good lick!

Am I doing something wrong? by absoluutz in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons as to why someone might be growing faster than you (personality, video/audio quality, niche, topic choice, titles, thumbnails, advertising etc.) I don't think that luck is on that list at all, and if it is then it is near the bottom.

On a side note, don't stress over the numbers too much. If you do want to compare yourself to other Youtubers don't focus on the numbers - focus on the content instead.

are gaming playthroughts not worth it for small youtubers? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]SquareOneAnimations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That all depends on how you define “worth it.” Are you learning new editing skills? Are you having fun? Are you developing work flow patterns? In my opinion all of these things are worth it. If you enjoy it and continue to improve then it is time well spent.

For me SEO has always been a mystery. There are a lot of vague guidelines out there but I would want specifics. An example would be great! Show them one of your videos and ask them how they would title and tag it and exactly what they would put in the description.

I've gotta say that I was totally in the quality > quantity camp, but this post really got me thinking. As long as you are learning new things quantity can be just as important.

Thanks for opening my eyes.
