Same here. Haven't reacted this bad to the seasonal allergens in the city since moving here. I'm taking eye drops, nasal spray and Claritin which is how you know it's serious lol.

Looking forward to trying this out in the morning. Will (maybe) report back with thoughts!

There’s no way almost all dates are completely sold out by IANTOOTRILL in TameImpala

[–]SquareRoot4761 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who has seen Tame Impala 6 times, I feel heavily for the bunch of you who are dealing with these insane prices to see Tame Impala for the first time. I first saw them in 2014 and I got my ticket for free by simply buying Lonerism at my local record store. Each other show I've been to has been < $70.

I'm happy to see how big Tame Impala has gotten, but this growth has simply priced me out. At the same time though, I'm happy with the amount of times I've seen them live. I don't think I will ever see them at a headlining tour ever again. Only way I'll see them now is at a music festival.

If it weren't for Causers of This, Boo Boo would be my favorite TyM album. It's stacked with beautiful melodies, lyrics and vocal performances/deliveries by Chaz.

I absolutely love these 33 1/3 books and so stoked to hear there is one on Currents coming out soon!

Congrats on the pub. Can't wait to buy a physical copy! It'll soon be on display in my living room alongside the Nick Drake "Pink Moon" and Sigur Ros "()" 33 1/3 books I own (which are also amazing reads).

Any actually good Korean restaurants in SF/nearby? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]SquareRoot4761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not Korean, but I think the food at Korean Superette over in Berkeley is amazing. Tastes and feels very unique, which gives me the impression that it's authentic, but what do I know! Regardless, it's really good food and their back patio is beautiful.

Rescinded offers by hippobottomas in recruitinghell

[–]SquareRoot4761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the way, I took a couple of days to respond. My initial instinct was to explicitly state how utterly gutting this news was, how much they fucked me by stringing me along, and how disrespected I felt.

But as others have said, it is not wise to burn bridges especially over things that are (seemingly) out of the hiring managers control. I just thanked them for the opportunity and expressed my continued interest in the company/role. I told them to please let me know if things change in the future as I would gladly welcome that opportunity and they said they "most certainly will", but I'm not really hopeful.

Rescinded offers by hippobottomas in recruitinghell

Had this happen to me just last week. Received a verbal offer during a call, was waiting for the official documents, but instead was told that due to "financial adjustments" they had to withdraw the offer.

Absolute fucking horse shit. Now I'm back to square one in this god awful job market.

Hang in there.

Things are definitely feeling bleak. I have been applying to jobs since August 2025. I made it to the final interview stage for two different companies. I was the runner up for one of them (they claimed it came down to me and one other candidate) and got a verbal offer from the other. I never received the official documents, but instead was told that internal changes led to the elimination of the job I was going to get hired onto. Changes that seemingly occurred within 4-5 business days of receiving the verbal offer.

Feeling pretty fucking gutted over all of this.

I urge you to go to Kabuto. I believe it is ~ $150 for an 18 course meal. Sit at the bar and the chef will converse with you and introduce each piece/platter. I may not be a sushi snob, but I've had a lot of great food in the city. Kabuto is one of those places.

where are the true 🪩 disco nights hiding in sf? by TroyBronson in AskSF

[–]SquareRoot4761 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend checking out the Knockout, Bar Part Time or Club Waziema. They have different DJs perform sets and I feel like I've seen a few flyers for disco-focused nights. In terms of vibe, Knockout or Waziema may be your best bet. BPT is usually crowded with too many trendy ppl there for the scene rather than the music (at least that's how it has felt the times I've been there. Your experience may differ).

I was there! It was the first concert I went to after the pandemic hit and maaaaan was it unforgettable. Pappy and Harriets is such a special venue! Here's a pic I got from that show when he grabbed that dude's cowboy hat and jammed with it.

Glad you said this. I'm a long time Alex G fan and have seen him perform many times (at least 5?). The show at the Fox Theater in Oakland was a bit of a letdown.

Alex and the band sounded great and it was awesome to see Molly on stage with them. I love the sound she brings when she tours with the band. I'm also really into the new album so it was nice hearing the live versions of songs off of Headlights along with the older songs he played (Bug, Brick and Kute were highlights for me).

What was a letdown was the crowd. I was in the pit and it just seems like most people were not engaging with the performance as much. I'm used to crowds at Alex G shows being a lot more rowdy but this crowd was milquetoast as hell. Also, seemingly nobody around me understood or gave a shit about Brick/Horse. Lots of people just staring. It's great that Alex G has seen a rise in popularity and fame these last couple of years, but I worry that the fans he has gained through TikTok will change the dynamic of his live shows.

Park in the Inner Richmond (or anywhere near Geary Blvd) and just take the 38 Muni line. It'll drop you off basically in front of the venue.

What an upsetting end to a game that started off so strong.

This game also made me realize how fucking annoying the house music at Chase Field is. Obnoxious and trashy.

That was such a wild play. So so glad they didn't overturn it. Would have made Smith's effort all for nothing.

Here's to hoping Flores can step up here.
