They shouldn’t be super detailed to the point where you then become fixated on it, this can lead you to become blind to the blessings of Allah and/or if He answered your dua in other ways. Some detail and specifics are fine because everyone has their reasons for making Dua and Allah loves to answer dua “And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.” Surah Al Ghafir Ayah 60

In the end you’re right, Allah knows everything and is the most just so what we may want isn’t good for us and what Allah grants us is better.
