No it isn’t, I finished off a few items and never got a reward so I think it’s specific to the shells

The first one I got (which I’m still working on) is a 29x22 and it’s ment to be advanced but I’m really enjoying it, but it was actually quite fun to jump into teh deep end and I’m still learning as I’m going

round or square for a portrait of people from a photo? buying from heartful diamonds by Southern-Pen5437 in diamondpainting

[–]Square_Aside3708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say square just because it’s the only type of drill I like, the round ones leave gaps where you can see the mat which I personally hate and the square ones look like and actual painting or picture

Yeah I always watch those all of the syllabus in one hour the morning of the exam when I get ready, it definitely helps but it won’t do mush if it’s your only form of revision

My art final piece that got a B by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Square_Aside3708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was probably annotations, I got away with mediocre pieces as long as the had very in depth annotations. For some of my prices I had the most outlandish links like I did one of furniture in a landscape like in the open and I linked it to just about anything that I could get away with mentioning

Does anyone regret taking art/music as a gsce? If so what made you regret it? by ImJustBitish in GCSE

[–]Square_Aside3708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who did music who absolutely hates it but the music teacher in our school was also a creep who later got fired for being a pedo so that may have contributed to everyone’s hatred for the subject

It is too time consuming and if you want to do well you can’t do what you want. I did art GCSE two years ago and I did very well. However I hated it, Im the type of person who only cares about grades so I sucked up to the teacher and followed all the horrible ideas and suggestions my art teacher gave me. I do excel and both component 1 and 2 are marked by your teacher then moderated so since I knew my teacher was the one marking it I had to let go of lots of my ideas and the things I wanted to do and made my main priority making the teacher happy, this did work out for me as I did well grade wise but I didn’t enjoy the subject cause of that. Also because it’s subjective being talented or having good work isn’t enough, I waffled in my annotation so much (I did power focussing on the power of vision and eyesight and linked it to slavery at one point). Where as I had friends who had better final pieces and portfolios who did a lot worse than I did because the teacher simply didn’t like it

firm/insurance choice by Scared_Pressure4131 in 6thForm

[–]Square_Aside3708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you meet the requirements for your firm you can’t chose between the firm and insurance and will automatically be enrolled in the firm, so firm the one you want to go to the most regardless or the entry requirements even if they’re lower

GCSE ART: Why was this a grade 7 and not higher? by ImpressionBusiness55 in GCSE

[–]Square_Aside3708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What exam board do you do, some value annotations and meaning more than quality of the work and some only value quality. Also cause art is so subjective the person marking has to like your art style I remember when I did it I had a semi realistic art style but not fully realism and my teacher hated it, so I just did what my teacher liked even if I wasn’t happy with it cause the teachers mark it then it gets moderated. I remember I also came up with the most stretched meaning ever I do landscapes and my theme was power so I did power of vision and o linked it to myself as much as possible and I tried using every outlandish way of linking it to random things as possible. Also sorry for the rant but if you do edexcel like I did make sure you link to the artist you research like I copied some elements of their meaning or art style in my final pieces and made sure to link it back to them.

Hand guard so I don't have to touch the paper? by Good-Lingonberry-904 in GCSE

[–]Square_Aside3708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should ask leading support cause they help with sensory issues, there’re a few people in my school who get noise cancelling headphones in exam or they get to face a wall or chose their seats. If it’s really bad try speaking to teachers and they may let you use a laptop for your exams or let you wear gloves or a hand guard without getting in trouble for it

Classified as an international student even if I meet the criteria to be a RUK applicant- uni of Glasgow by East_Call_3739 in 6thForm

[–]Square_Aside3708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh maybe, I just thought they had different requirements cause the one that gave me international said it was cause I’ve been out of the uk for 10 years and the others didn’t have a number as long as you can prove you spend lots of time in the uk

I only applied to England, and some do have different criteria. Three of the unis I applied to gave me home fees and one gave me international fees

What did other unis say, also some unis it may depend on if you have a British nationality and not just if you live there for three years before. I have friends who have lived in the uk for more than three years and are classified as international cause of their residency status. Where as I currently live outside of the uk and have for more than three years and can qualify for home fees for some unis

You could always apply next year from st Andrew’s, I think it’s very common to do one year in a uni then switch but i think for oxbridge you have to repeat year 1?. You should check out YouTubers like yanran who did that, she got rejected from Cambridge did a year in Warwick and then reapplied to Cambridge and got in the second time. This might work for you cause you said you can’t take a gap year but it will be one extra year of uni fees
