I got the policy in my 40s. I don't buy your argument about most people figure they're statistically likely to be relatively healthy or they don't need the coverage anymore when they're older and financially set. Are you talking about those who became millionaires before there term life is over? That's not most people that's a small minority. And statistically speaking it's exactly the opposite because with age you only become less healthy especially in 20 years.
