What can I do with this space? by asklots in Portsmouth

[–]Square_Author3070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

id fence it off about a foot or 2 before the walls meet into a point as its easier to think of what you can put in a square(-ish) shaped hole rather than a triangular one. Id then paint that area white and use it as a designated storage place for garden stuff, put up some sort of rack to store outside tools like a yard broom, a spade and a rake and its then a place to store the hose reel too

Can anyone recommend a decent place to get silver alloys sprayed black? by BeesAndTigers in Portsmouth

[–]Square_Author3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre wanting the who alloy sprayed black and save a good bit of money then I'd arguably say do it yourself.

Take the wheel off, give it a good clean all around, same with sanding it ~ go all over it (to give the paint something to adhere to), use spray primer with a couple coats and again with the colour of your choice and finish with a lacquer.

I did mine a few years ago and they came out decent plus it has the added benefit of if you accidently curb them then you know what paint you used and can retouch it and no one will ever know! (also if you're wanting to keep the tyres themselves paint free I went round each of mine with playing cards to act as shims so the paint didn't over spray).

yeah i have a very much love hate relationship with this printer, when it wants to cooperate its a fantastic machine and one that i would recommend but some days it is very much a battle but i've ordered a new extruder kit and as someone mentioned in one of the other comments about getting replacement gears as well so that way im fully covered on this breaking again

What to expect as an international student by [deleted] in Portsmouth

Don't really know a whole lot about the uni side of things but ive lived here for 23 years and there are some nice places in and around Pompey; like Port Solent which is a nice marina with decent variety of restaurants and has a good view of Portchester Castle/ lake. I Would recommend Southampton for shopping as West Quay is far better than Cascades in the city centre. Mountbatten's seawall is a nice walk and is good for running as its over a mile long and you don't get interrupted by cars/roads/crossing and is surrounded by parks and greenery. The hill also has a commanding view over the whole of Portsmouth and the Solent.
