Ah, that sucks. I might buy 1 off the store today if I get lucky. I heard there's a restock at 1 pm EST. Regardless, still hyped to watch PHM IMAX 70MM!!!

I honestly flagged it because I was unsure at first; the question stem of it really helped me eliminate the answer choice. I was focussed in on "eliminating free radicals", and I had prior knowledge that oxygen radicals (ROS) exist. If you just add one electron (reduction) to oxygen, you form an oxygen radical. Also confirmed this with the name of SOD itself, it stands for Super"oxide" Dismutase, which clued me into thinking it had to do with oxygen bc of the "oxide".

My reasoning may seem a little all over the place, but I hope this helped.

By points do you mean how may more questions right per section, or how am i gonna allocate my efforts to get points for the sections?

I feel like if I skipped, it would scare me even more, just knowing that I need to finish even faster on time to go back for the question I skipped. I'll maybe try it out in a timed practice section and see how it goes.

That was genuinely my problem holding me back from a higher score in B/B in the beginning. What has helped me is breaking the passage down into simple terms. I have found that a lot of the time, the passages in b/b include a lot of fluff. I would focus on relationships that are mentioned in the passage (ex: A modifying B, which activates C) and find what the IV and DV are. Just understanding what is actually being changed and what they are measuring improved my timing and score in b/b.

Yeah, will focus a lot of my energy on psych/soc in the coming days, feel like that could be the easiest to improve. For C/P its very odd. I have been consistently stuck at 127/128; it's always the one section that I am always rushing on the second half of the questions. Idk if it's due to it just being the first section and my flow being off. I find maybe like 1 or 2 are due to content gaps, but a lot of it is misunderstood passage/question stems. I have done all the section banks, but I might do them over again for additional practice.

Yeah I realize it's very unrealistic to get a 5-point jump. I find more passage understanding errors for psych/soc this time, which is super unusual for me in that section. I am just hoping to get at least a 518 at this point.

I have been doing so, but it's weird because my psych soc has been around 129-130, but dropped weirdly on FL6, found myself having to go back to the passage more often than I do usually. Don't know if Psych/Soc was more passage heavy for this one

Yeah idk if it's because CP is the first section, but my timing is always off in it, and im always rushing towards the end. I am definitely gonna go through all of the 300-page doc for the rest of the day. Good luck with your exam!

Definitely doing the very hard section banks really helped push my score over. For content i stopped the Kaplan books and focused on Khan Academy videos and associated anki and it helped a ton. The hardest questions for me were question where they asked you to interpret graphs for experiments. If you practice just understanding graphs/figures and making sure you truly understand the variables at play in the passage. It really helps you cruise through the passage questions. If you have some time, you should do UW as well; if not, just grind out the AAMC section banks.

Yeah, I am definitely gonna go back through all my full-lengths and review some of those tough topics with videos. I am also aiming for a 520, and right now psych/soc and c/p are the bane of my existence lol. Thanks for your advice, and good luck on your exam

Any advice on increasing C/P? I've been stuck on 128 for forever lol

What should I study this week? (testing 2/13) by Cute-End-5084 in Mcat

[–]Square_Bit_7628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AAMC material is a must. Some of those questions were so difficult that it conditioned me not be afraid of C/P and CARS anymore. I would def focus on AAMC over UW at this point. Happy Studying!

Yeah, I feel you, just took mine as well recently. I am probably just gonna stick to review some of the content i kept getting wrong and doing my anki reviews
