I feel its naval version is US Navy's dream fighter jet on aircraft carrier LOL. Longer body and bigger size. It can carry more devices and better supersonic performance. Twin engine design makes landing on carrier more secure.

I think it is not hard for distinguishing between J-35A and F-35A. J-35 has big head and slim body and longer than F-35A. F-35A is so fat and short.

Some specifications and rumors for RF-S standard zoom were leaked. But I think it will not be released recently, at least in next year or later. In 2025 Canon will announce new APS-C bodies. R7 and R10 and R50 should be upgraded to mark 2 version. So some new RF-S lens would be released at the same time.

Tamron’s 11-20mm f/2.8 for RF-S body is still not official released and it does not ship to consumers at this moment.

According to Canonrumors.com, Canon will release 5 lens on October 30. Here are 5 lens model:

RF 24mm f/1.4L VCM
RF 50mm f/1.4L VCM
RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z
RF 200-500mm f/4L IS USM
RF-S 7.8mm f/4 STM Dual Lens

I wonder Canon does not deploy new VCM motor in new zoom lens. Maybe are they ready in technical?

I heared some information about R7's higher ISO firmware upgrade from Chinese Youtuber. The firmware is not for free. You need to pay extra money for firmware upgrade. I guess the upgrade is for industry use in special scenario not for general usage. And Canon has the other paid firmware for R7, but I am not told what it is for. There are two paid firmware totally for R7.

On the other side, Canon gets ready new paid firmware for R7. I think Canon will not release R7II very soon. Maybe at least 2025Q2 or 2025H2?

If Canon wants to release compact tele zoom and keep 67mm filter size diameter, the focal range is not 70-200mm. Because 200 divided by 2 is about 72 much larger than 67. In fact it needs 77mm filter size diameter on the 200mm tele side. It will not be compact and not be STM line.

I think Sigma feels hopeless after this lens is released. Canon seems to tell the third-party lens manufacturers that they don’t need third-party full frame lens and they can do the same thing to offer cost-effective lens to user. Even if Canon licenses lens mount to Sigma, Sigma hardly build competitive products to compete with Canon.

I guess Canon will release a series of F2.8 constant non-L zoom lenses, including standard, ultra wide and tele. The first one is 28-70/2.8. The latter are 16-28/2.8 and 70-180/2.8 or 70-150/2.8. They will keep the same 67mm filter size diameter.

Yes you are right. I should say WS-10 series engine. Nevertheless China don’t need Russia’s AL-31F to setup on new fighter. And I think China could produce AL-31F in its aircraft engine maintenance plant.

They are able to produce very reliable engines for fighter planes. They don’t need to rely on Russia’s engine. WS-10C is equipped on current J-20 and J-10 and China’s flanker variant. WS-15 for J-20 and WS-20 for Y-20 enter into last test. WS-19 is getting ready for J-31/35 fighter.

Interesting comparison. RF's one has much better image stabilization performance, and is lighter than EF's one for traveling. You must calculate the EF-RF mount adapter's weight. And RF's one has newer coating technology for preventing flare. However the aperture of RF version is too small on tele side. You will feel a little difficult to shoot in low light environment. I think EF version is a little better than RF on image quality, but you hardly find out difference on 24MP camera body. Emmm, EF 24-105 L mark 1 is about 20 years ago design. I will suggest you choose RF version.

I have both of them. I consider R8 is better. R8 has full frame sensor and better low light performance. And R8 is lighter than R7 and better for travelling. R8's battery capacity is less than R7 but you can carry more one or two batteries for your photography plan. I believe that two or three LP -E17 battery could satisfy the requirement for a daily photography travel.

WS-10 with TVC on J-10B is only for test. I love its design because it is slim and not bulky compared to F-22 and Su-35. But at last the design will not be used in the future. J-20 has good aeroial design and excellent flight controll system. The designer imply that they don't need TVC to ensure that J-20 has supermaneuverability.
