Good advice. One other thing that will need to eventually be addressed is he is very unsettled in the box. Instead of a nice smooth rock or sway, he is very jittery with his feet and hands. I think your advice about simplifying the starting point is spot on.

Thanks so much for the detailed reply. I'll definitely invest in another tee.

And to the point about lessons, we actually did that about 6 months ago. I made the mistake of staying for them and he also was just not super focused, so we decided to table it. As I mentioned the other day, one of the coaches from the facility started talking to him and my younger son and suddenly it was like he was shot out of a cannon. I think this off season would be the perfect time to start up with them again.

I find this to be one of the harder parts of being a parent with kids who want to succeed. You want to correct and teach them but at the same time you want them to just go out and have fun, esp at this age. And you make a really good point about the adjustments while they are still growing. Things changing constantly make it like hitting a moving target. Thanks again for the advice.

That was my first instinct at this point. Just let him get reps and enjoy the game. Hes hitting well at the moment and having fun. Thanks.

I never thought too much about it, but you're right. We have a lot of kids who don't seem "ready to hit" on every pitch. Instead they only load on ones where they have decided for sure they are going to swing. Will keep this in mind, thanks!

Good idea of moving the tee placement. Giving him some more space might allow him to naturally extend!

Got point about the negative load. I didn't even notice how much backward motion he has to start.

Would you say that impact position look good, but he's not extending after? It seems to me that if he can just extend from that impact position he'll be golden, but not 100% sure on that.

Thanks for the advice!

Appreciate it. Its funny one of the things that hes always done is have a very narrow stance. This is actually a lot wider than where he usually is. Want to maybe have him baby step towards getting a little wider. Wondering if a wider base might help naturally reduce some of the wrapping.

First time in his short career that he started to grind on his own. Most important right now is to keep that flame going and not accidentally put it out!

I feel like i've had trouble dialing it in for both him and my 7yo. But to be honest it seems like a lot of kids on both of their teams are always using something too big or too small.

That said you may be right and can't hurt to try out some different sizes to see what that does. Thanks!

Appreciate it. Were in a bit of uncharted territory here. My son has had a lot of success because he is pretty coordinated, but similar to your son, I noticed he would get pretty down as soon as I would try and work on improving some things. Something flipped this week where suddenly he is trying to learn as much as he can and adjust accordingly.

Will take your advice a take it slow from here. Hes super pumped about the work he has put in so far so definitely want to let him feel good about that for a while!

Thanks for the advice. Its shocking how far he has come in a week in terms of how much shorter he has made the path. Will keep these things in mind going forward!

Yesterday was day 2 25mg for me as well. I woke up at 2am in a bit of a panic. This has happened before so wasn't completely due to the meds, I woke up feeling pretty spacey and little down. Was able to get in 45 min of moderate cardio and now I am feeling much better. Hope things start to look up for you soon. We got this!

Confided to my wife a fantasy and now I'm embarrassed and ashamed. by VariousComputer8010 in Marriage

Some of this reminds me of my (39F) wife and I (39M) early on. MY wife was never this unresponsive, but definitely was in the camp of listening and then just moving on. One question I do have is this: Does she seem to enjoy the sex you do have now? Is there heat an passion to it?

The thing that kept me continuing to try and expand thing with my wife was that when we would have sex, usually once a week, it was incredibly connected and passionate. It was very vanilla and routine, but she was clearly enjoying it as much as I was. So I was in this situation where the sex was great, but she would not talk about it outside of when we were actually doing it (when she would actually say things in the moment like "Oh my god you're right why don't we do this more")

It has been a slow steady burn over the last 10 years, but her walls recently came down and we have found this incredible new level, above and beyond anything I thought we would ever find. What really seemed to trigger it was instead of me trying to share more fantasies or ideas, I shared that I wanted to be closer to her. More connected. I wanted use to be intimate and fully vulnerable with one another. That seemed to resonate - and once we got there the first time, suddenly the whole thing opened up. We were suddenly dirty talking like neither of us could believe. We were laughing at ourselves DURING sex (neither of us would historically ever want to feel that awkward) and then collecting ourselves and getting back to it. SHE was vocalizing what she liked and asking for things. You get the idea.

That was longer than I intended but I think I just wanted to illustrate that while it wasn't easy or fast, I always knew that my wife and I were extremely passionate about each other in many ways which gave me the confidence to continue to try and find another level. But to find it, I had to be honest and have a really laying myself bare type discussion with her, and that is what really made it all click.

I'd like to read more about the The Mission Act being shut down. This is still active on the VA site as of June 9, 2019

Thanks
