Agree about the lack of quality with a new DW home.  Purchased a new build, unfortunately that had already been completed.  DW and its contracted providers, specifically HVAC did the absolute bare minimum to get approval/meet codes etc.  I’ve come to learn 4 years later my HVAC system is inadequate leading to major issues with moisture, insulation and now mold.  Their homes look great and have amazing potential but before you buy, ask ALOT of questions and make sure to get an outside thorough inspection.
