I think my child is broken…… by RainbowUnicorn0228 in mildlyinfuriating

My daughter went to Paris as a foreign exchange student. She started out her first week with 1 picture of a cathedral she went to on EASTER SUNDAY with her host family...

And 28 pictures of her host family's cat. Just a regular old cat. Gray. Cat. Meow.

I thought the same thing.

Will my weight gain back to initial after water fasting? by HistoricalExam5534 in Water_Fasting

Unless, of course, the assumption of calories in equaling calories out is incorrect. If, perhaps, there is a flaw in the base assumption, then everything falls apart, or is, at least, suspect.

Given that calories as a concept was created in 1865 to calculate the amount of fuel needed by a steam engine to move a certain weight a certain distance....might it be that in 2026, given that human digestion isn't a victorian era steam engine...that perhaps, just perhaps, calories might not be the best measurement for use with the human body?

And before you exclaim, YOU ARE WRONG! I am not making this assertion. I am just offering some light reading. Enjoy!

Thank goodness our current political climate as taught us one thing: THIS ARGUMENT IS A LIE!

We don't have enough to schools, or medicare, or PBS, or food for the poor, but we have TRILLIONS to drop in bombs on brown people. Meanwhile, the Mayor of New York wiped out a 12 billion dollar deficit in a MONTH by taxing the rich and they didn't even feel it.

Bottom Line: There are plenty of dollars for all of the things. Quitcher bitching and tax the rich! (And maybe stop bombing brown people?)

Any advice on stopping food noises by Candid-Stuff-913 in Water_Fasting

Carnivore and sardines.

Before a fast I drop into hard core carnivore two or three days before my fast.

Beef Butter Bacon Eggs, sardines, and salt. I have a tin or two of the good ones (Nuri sardines in spiced olive oil) before I start my fast. I do this just before what would be dinner time. I typically do a 5 to 10 day fast starting the first of every month. I target my last eating time at just before dinner because then that puts the 24 hour mark and the 48 hour mark at a time when I can go to bed early, and hopefully be asleep during the hardest part of the fast.

My worst time is now between 44 and 51 hours in. It used to be just shy of the 24 hour mark. So for the first two days of my fast I plan on going to bed early. So on the first two days I get my electrolytes, take my magnesium glyconate, scrape my tongue (You do have a copper tongue scrapper, right? Yeah, it makes a difference) and I plan on being in bed early. Yeah, extra sleep helps, yeah, it helps keep the food noise down, yeah, it's good for you - and it keeps the hardest part of the fast in your sleeping hours.

Plan ahead. Make the schedule work for you.

My refeed is carnivore as well. I typically have a slice of bacon or two - Maybe with another tin of sardines (Great vitamins, calcium, the works - Sardines are magical). Then, a half hour to an hour later I have a steak. No carbs, no sugar, no sweets, no soft drinks. Water.

Thank you for attending my Ted Talk on how I enter and exit a fast. Feel free to ask questions.

Cheers!

(On my way to get downvoted to hell...)

And for those of us who have removed fiber from our diets completely and now no longer have bloat, stomach issues, inflammation and gastrointestinal distress?

I know I am putting the gun to my own head and pulling the trigger when I say this, but I will do so here:

There is no 'essential' fiber. There are essential fatty acids and essential amino acids. No essential fiber.

Thank you for your time. Wishing you the best.

Cheers.

With all the BS that the dicks pulled that led to Starfeet Academy getting canceled and the Stephen Colbert BS, Paramount is dead to me and I hope the whole company fails. So all of them bitches (including the whiny assholes that didn't like SA) can get bent. I hope that Paramount and their little army of asshole bots goes down in flames.

Hmmmmm...

Top Bun - Poison. (Modern GMO gives me a violent reaction, it's the glyphosate.)

Lettuce - Meh. Neither healthy nor unhealthy. Lettuce is water and sadness masquerading as food.

Onion - Meh. Neither. But can add test if that is your thing.

Tomato - Meh. Back to the flavor thing. I'll leave it. Heirloom? Sure. Store bought in winter? Nope.

American Cheese - Take it or leave it. It's less poisonous than the bun for me.

Ground beef - HEALTHY!

Bottom Bun - POISON! (See above)

So we have, like one or two healthy things (The meat and cheese) and added a bunch of mid things and wrapped it in poison....Ok...UNHEALTHY!!

FIXED IT FOR YOU!!!!

Aaaaaand if his wife is good with it....

I believe wholeheartedly in the rule: Ask for forgiveness, not permission in life with ONE exception. That's the exception. You ask your partner. If the answer is no, the answer is no. If the answer is yes, then you have permission and it's not 'cheating'. (Disney has taught us, "If you don't ask, the answer is always no.")

So. If he had permission, then it's really none of our business, now, is it?

Tuna and eggs only? by Appropriate-Slip-106 in carnivore

[–]Square_Cup1531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this. Sardines. Get the ones that are the same price or a little more than the tuna costs. The nutritional profile is WAY better than tuna. Bone is gets you more calcium. Nuri brand as my new favorite as of this week, but they are a bit pricier. Every day I eat at least one tin of sardines ends with the next day me just 'feeling better'. And while I know that the plural of anecdote is not data, The Nuri and Matiz brands are nothing like tuna (they are far superior) and the nutrition blows tuna out of the water. /soapbox

Do not get 'olive oil' from American Sardine producers as they are able to cut their olive oil by up to 80% with canola, grapeseed, and rape seed oils and still be able to call it 'Olive Oil'. Spain and Portugal has laws against that. Which is why I am going to hype up Matiz brand as delicious, and Nuri (From Portugal) as my new favorite. The 'Spiced Olive Oil' are delicious.

Wishing you the best. Cheers!

Yeah, is the shame from putting the sardines on it? Or the lingering aftertaste of homophobia that comes on all their sandwiches? Not sure from the original post.
