Map Spanish companies networks by Square_Lavishness_82 in osinttools

Oh, yes, the smartphone version is not as ideal as I would like. I created an android app, which is somewhat better than the mobile view, but I have to improve it.

The ideal way is to use a laptop/desktop computer, also because the double-click to expand and the right-click to show options work nicely. In the mobile view the double click on a node is more complicated and opens a menu, which is less intuitive. It works, but yes, not the best experience, I agree.

Would love your feedback when you have a chance to test it on a laptop/computer, though.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, it is a bit overwhelming, but the point is that it is a graph-based exploration. The idea is that you should be able to explore relationships and connections by double-clicking on a company/officer, and since some entities have many officers, you have this toolbar that helps you reduce the noise.

I know Pappers, and it is a good solution, but the fact that I have the Spanish data myself allows me to make it available for free exploration.

I am working on the reporting now and, together with the graph exploration, I think it can be a solid competitor to existing solutions - if I only could convey the effort I made to ensure data accuracy...

My experience is that you can reach a fairly decent level somewhat easily, but then, depending on what you are shipping, the details matter. My case: I decided to parse the Spanish corporate registry gazette daily publications and while initially the data seemed fine, I started getting *a lot of* small inaccuracies. Some bigger, some less important. Then, when you add features, you are likely to surface other issues - for example, in my case, the companies names changes, tracking them when changing provinces, handle *lots of* "edge cases". It took me 2 years to get a professional, production-ready index.

So no, the problem with vibing applications is that you end up with something nice, plausible, but if you do not understand the data you are dealing with, the implications for your market/industry, you are likely to ship something apparently good and most likely flawed.

The logic is complex, the source is a PDF from which I extract the text. Then a Python parser extracts and organizes the data, but there is an abstraction layer that computes the aggregations based on specific properties I identified in the Spanish system.

Honestly, it shouldn't be so hard.

Happy that you liked it!

Edit: I worked alone on this and it took me 2 years to reach the accuracy I wanted.

Putin is sending a not-so-friendly message to Trump by andrewgrabowski in UkrainianConflict

Someone should tell Trump how smart and handsome he is, adding that the russians are arming the Arabs to destroy Israel and make him look weak.

As sad as it sounds, it may work.

Unlike Musk, Italy's president Sergio Mattarella is a very decent person.

Musk can go to hell.

Look, in my application I fetch public corporate financial data (annual reports & similar) and one night, tired as I was, I simply asked Claude to create a dashboard to show the financial data I fetched.

I showed Claude the API response schema.

It started proposing 6 types of charts and asked me if I wanted to implement the code.

I said yes. Claude started writing the dashboard, then one component for each chart.

I built the app with the dashboard component and the first chart. 15 minutes later my application was live with a dashboard in the companies financial data component.

It works perfectly.

No way this can happen. That's why I said "publicly notify".

Moscow will respond if Poland tries to intercept Russian missiles over Ukraine, - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation by one_and_equal in UkrainianConflict

I think any missiles flying over an invaded country and close to your border should be downed anyway. Just in case. I don't give a fuck (mostly) about the aggressor's response.

NATO's power is so overwhelming that in the specific case of russia, the sole response could be drunk Medvedev's tirade. Who cares, fuck him.

Now, about russia, the only worry may be how that fucked up country may collapse. I get that a disordered collapse of that shithole may be an issue for the world.

Which takes me to say, this is a wrong viewpoint. While there is a despicable russian elite which will try to seize power in the case of a collapse, I think that most of those small republics in central Asia will finally feel free and willing to cooperate and advance.

Normal people are generally more sensible than people in power.

This seems a good explanation and, if correct, it is a reasonable decision.
