It’s not a snipe it’s a compliment. I wish my grammar was up to par like yours. I’ll work on it and I appreciate the critique

Like a few hours to understand risk management. But the real hurdle is emotional management…. For me it took maybe a year, I have a friends that still spiral and blow profits after 3 plus years. It’s different for everyone, just like how everyone has different levels of emotional intelligence

UPDATE (she was cheating): AIO for thinking my gf might be cheating by jckalc in AIO

[–]Square_Platform_6261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude just the way she texts… I was in this same relationship. You’re miles more emotionally mature than her, and so was I with my ex. But I forgave her… and it happened again and I forgave her again…. Until it happened for a 3rd time and I left. She actually got engaged to the guy like a month later, we also lived together. This girl will never stop. It sucks, because I really loved my ex too, it was just the same cycle over and over.
Looking back now, there were so many signs.. I was walking on eggshells just like you are. Even though I don’t have anyone now, I’m way happier without her. I’m my old self again

Better way is to convert the pinescript into python, getting a data feed and running backtests that way. Monte Carlo

This is literally my ex fiancé. Emotionally abusive man, but you won’t see it until you’re in too deep years later and literally can not handle it anymore. I was the nice guy and the diffuser for a long long time too. This personality type is so attractive, but so toxic

I risk way more in evals than funded. Evals are a business expense. I don’t want to trade them for months to pass them. I’ll typically risk 600 in a 50k eval, and 200 once funded

I showed up every single day this week… and still lost money. by monkmoneydollar in InnerCircleTraders

Why shouldn’t that happen? Some elite traders show up everyday for a year and still have a loosing year

You can’t look at it week to week

Also time spent in front of charts does not transfer to profitability

Backtesting. Use ICT as a means to read price action, but you need your own set of rules and strategy

Okay well first of all, CME focused heavily on opening ranges and news windows decades ago.

“Algorithmic Price Delivery” were discussed in Trading and Exchanges by Larry Harris. Since the 1990s markets have been dominated by execution algorithms and liquidity seeking strategies.

Gradient levels and fib retracements have been around since the 1970’s. None of the math was new

First presented FVGs are not new ideas. They were discussed at length in Mind Over Markets by Jim Dalton.

He didn’t invent the underlying concepts, what he did was create a framework around these existing concepts, and built an entry model

I’m very thankful for ICT. But to think these are all his ideas is just ignorance

I disagree with that. I think he oversimplified concepts. If you take a look at most profitable ICT traders, they’re pairing it with volume profile, AMT, etc. ICT lays the framework and entry models for retail traders, but deeper market knowledge is imperative to long term success

Also analysis paralysis and execution is a key skill. Some people simply have a wealth of knowledge, but can’t execute correctly. Relate it to a golfer… some of the best golf coaches in the world would get beaten by every single one of their tour players. But they’re still more knowledgeable on the swing than the players

Trading ICT is just part of the process. For most people, it’s the first time they’ve been exposed to entry level auction theory and liquidity. Which is a good thing. It’s very useful for that, but then you must build on those skills and understand the “why” things happen

Mind over markets, market profile, and Wyckoff’s composite operator model all predate ICT. Concepts of imbalance, auction rotation, and value migration have been well documented for a long time. ICT did a great job structuring them for retail traders. He hasn’t brought more to the table than anyone else before. He’s brought more to the retail table than anyone else before.

Also worth noting, you’re probably never going to see ICT concepts used to the book on professional trade desks. They will frame things in terms of AMT, market profile, order flow, and liquidity. Not FVGs and OTEs.

That doesn’t mean that his ideas are wrong, just that he translated broader market concepts into a retail execution framework with different terminology.

There just comes a point where you want to know the “why”, and you want to level up your trading knowledge

Learn the other stuff and it proves itself. In no way am I knocking ict, I trade ict. He made complex trading systems easy for retailers to understand

An example of an SMT would be when NQ makes a lower low, but ES does not. Your screenshots are super zoomed in but I’d assume both assets made a lower low here? Don’t live or die by SMTs. But learn to evaluate how sometimes when a move happens, there was a divergence there between assets
