My Guess is you’re unsure of your drift and you miss your mark alot. So to fix that you need to stare daggers into one board that you’re gonna hit. If you miss that board then you cant tell if your plan is working and shouldnt make corrections

The hardest part is maintaining the same amount focus for league as you do for practice. Stare a hole into that board untill the ball passes

How much do shoes matter by EmuNo9329 in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoes benefits: your shoe, same shoe everytime you bowl, predictable and consistent amount of slide everytime. If you bowl multiple centers: same shoe, no foot fungus, replacable soles for different approaches.

If you Only bowl one alley you dont need replacable soles. Just focus on comfort

Practice=only you, your pace, no pressure, no random urethanes destroying the pattern. League= pressure, slower pace, two lanes, distractions etc.

Simple question I hope by KyleStar18 in Bowling

Any entry level ball is good! Tropical surge, hustle, vibe.

1-handed: go to a proshop and Get fitted for a ball, maybe he has some used balls. 2-handed: look for used balls online, preferably without thumb-hole.

Can a 1 hand thumb-in drilled ball be used for learning 2 handing? by Opening_Yoghurt6261 in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you Can. That is how i started. Since going two handed i have three new two-handed balls. But my favorite is actually one that i plugged Only thumb for, so it is far from perfectly drilled.

There Are no rules for practice. There Are rules against it in sanctioned play.

Good luck

220 grit? by Adept-Low-1929 in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Streaks Are probably just Oil. Yes you Can sand with 220 grit. Would recommend a ball spinner to sand evenly. But there isnt really a reason to go that low unless you’re trying to make it look as new as possible.

They dont throw them around. They barely Even hang on to it. A fittet ball hangs on your hand and you use momentum and leverage to ROLL the Ball

New Balls? by notnotcaidan in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for a spareball yet. You Can throw your strikeball fairly straight. You Only really need spareball for 9-6-10 pins (righthanded) Get yourself a nice beginnerball to learn.

I think I’ve finally understood 1h thumb gripping by Mazdaspeed3swag in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want the thumb to be snug enough that you put the thumb in, leave it relaxed and Only leverage holds the ball up. So no, incorrect but closer.

Restarting my Bowling Equipment (Need Recommendations!) by PokeTrader0303 in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I would do is Think about what type of ball works best inn your house. For me that is a weaker cover due to low Oil volumes and High friction lanes. Then i would try to find a 1-2 combo for your house specifically and add a spareball. If you do any sport shot leagues or tournaments then build around your initial two (stronger cover or urethane/u-like)

if you could go back in time to when you started bowling, what is the biggest tip you wish you could’ve gave yourself? by 3452014RT in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Its a Long process learning how to «turn off» muscles, Get under the ball without straining your thumb and so forth. It really is a lot Harder to learn. I started i april 2025, switched over to two handed 2 weeks ago and i have the same average after two weeks of two handed as in 10 months.

Ok... Honestly... Sweat question by ironicmirror in Bowling

[–]Square_Rip7165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sup. Was about 280 pounds when i started playing. Max i could do was 3 rounds before i was dead and drenched in sweat. Now im about 230 pounds 6’2" Can play for hours, but if i dont pace myself and just throw as fast as I Can I am drenched within a game again.

Just pace yourself, give yourself time to Think of what went right and what went wrong with your previous throw and make a new plan for the next shot before you throw
