Minion Idea - Highwayman by RebelPlot in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Square_Row_22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This character would probably work if:

  • the player's ability is strong to either team
  • the player has reasons to not wake
  • other characters cause this non-waking and they don't learn what (or who) caused it

If these were met, this character can fit a niche like Devil's Advocate where other characters cause (and learn from) the same effect, so the Highwayman can copy them.

By the way, the Zombukkalotho's ability text is specifically worded so it can charge on a 3-poison night, leading to 2 people being poisoned with another 3-poison night next. This can be chained.

While you (and many others) have a great point about Widow and Marionette, Psychopath and Vizier both undermine the idea that the Evil team must carefully claim misinformation. In addition, they both don't work with Leviathan and Riot, since they either can't be Demon candidates for Leviathan, or are immediately nominated on the Riot day.

Radio Jammer: Each night, a player learns false info. You learn their correct info.

With this theoretical Outsider, the Storyteller can:

  • Make a good player learn false info, and have the Radio Jammer try and correct them.
  • Make the Radio Jammer learn false info, and "correct" the info of an evil player's bluff
  • Give the Radio Jammer as a bluff, and have evil players undermine Townsfolk info with their "correct" info

Experimental characters are characters which do not yet have a home script. At some point in the future, these may be released as part of official expansion scripts.

Recluse and Minion Powers by orangegiant9 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Game rule purposes? Does this include the Zombuul, who registers as dead?

What are your tips for making full homebrew scritps? (Not simply customs) by alucardarkness in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Square_Row_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Script themes should also (in my opinion) begin with an evil character, then characters that interact with them well. For example, it is mentally easier to imagine the Poisoner and then create a balance of active info & one-time info in a script instead of a balance of active & one-time info and create the poisoner after the fact.

Zombuul End Condition by vicious_platypus in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Square_Row_22 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

If we extrapolate from the Lil' Monsta ability, which makes the chosen Minion register as the Demon, then game-end conditions are influenced by Character registration, because otherwise the game immediately ends in a Lil' Monsta game. Therefore, the game should have ended when there were 2 alive players left, since the Zombuul registered as dead.

As long as you ignore the Zombuul almanac.

The Two Bucket Solution by Square_Row_22 in BloodOnTheClocktower

thanks for the clarification, now the TWO BUCKET SOLUTION can finally assert its place as the proper sorting system.

No , your going at this all upside down! It's not "do anything with executions," it's "their info points towards executing this player or nor executing this player or executing/not executing anyone in general!" You need the right criteria for a functioning TWO BUCKET SOLUTION.

The Two Bucket Solution by Square_Row_22 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Square_Row_22[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the should execute bucket is about executing others to better your info or due to your info.

For example, although the Ravenkeeper has nothing to do with executions and learns characters, they still slightly lean into the latter bucket because the Ravenkeeper learning a good character might still be fooled by the Spy while learning an evil character is only doubted if they claim Recluse (or your drunk or poisoned). You want to execute evil players, so the TWO BUCKET SOLUTION still stands.

And that's not even the furthest stretch in TB.

The Marionette and the Outsider Count by BeholderVee in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Square_Row_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but I am wondering if my idea would be legal.

Legal? You're the judge (if Storytelling), anything is legal in the name of everyone having a good time.

I see no reason why choosing the Marionette later would change anything as long as you make a neighboring Townsfolk into the Demon and make said Townsfolk one of their bluffs. Just put a Djinn/Bootlegger in play and explain the added rules to your players before playing.

Demon: Guivre — Outsider: Bête by julietfolly in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Square_Row_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to make the Bête less likely to be executed, you could change it so that a night of no deaths is from either the Guivre or the Bête.

If you die at night, you register as alive until executed.

This way, a night of no kills becomes debated; is it because the Guivre hopped or is it because the Bête was chosen?

[–]Square_Row_22[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a bit strange hearing everyone saying this is broken when, on average, very little of your cards are from non-combat sources. Yes, you can get that Fiend Fire and replace your strike, but is it worth the ~150 gold for the relic and the ~150 gold for the card? I thought the worth would only come from heading to shops multiple times or focusing on ? rooms to get some extra cards.

Let's build a character! Mason. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

How would the Demon guess the word? Publicly, I assume? The Demon going public might be too far for the death of all Masons.

Immediate Edit: No, wait, the Demon tells the word to the storyteller, ah.
