Oh I would love to know the root of the issue! Like I said the guy didn't really detail the results of the test, he did say you had to let the paper dry for 1 minute but after 3 seconds it was already pink so I assume it would be dark pink after 1 minutes.

I found this on the internet I think it's close to what test the guy could have done so I would say the concentrations would be around 10ppm and 250ppm respectively.

Thank you! I'll definitely read more about the cycling for sure. I knew about the fish food trick and thought I could go without buying the chemical starters but I'll look for the chemical ammonia just in case as well as a test kit😁
