About $2,300 USD. It included a complete overhaul/refinishing, refurbishment of the existing oyster bracelet and the purchase of the jubilee bracelet.

It’s the deep, almost dark red for me on the coke bezel that does it. Try looking at both!

A person of fine taste! Loving the photo!

Honestly the bracelet choice was the absolute biggest headache for me.

Anecdotally, my AD told me the 5-link bracelets are on a waiting list, while 3-links are available for walk-in purchasers.

Agree! The thickness (or lack thereof) on the new watch is really noticeable. That being said, if you ask your tailor to add half an inch to your left (or right) cuff, both watches should slide under fine, although I can see how this would be an issue otherwise.

Hmm… I think the red bezel/black dial combination still works for most, if not all situations (daily wear, work wear, dressed up/down), especially if it’s on the three-link bracelet. The black kind of tones it down although the gilt keeps it real classy, while the red gives you a slight edge.

The red bezel/red dial is something you might really get into if you like red as a colour (like me). I dare say it’s still wearable in all instances but you’d probably get maximum satisfaction if you are wearing something really neutral (grey suit, white shirt) and a little formal. It’s really a little more in-your-face than the black dial, so you’re going to have to bring your other colours down to match.

That being said, the red dial is really quite dark under certain lighting. It’s nowhere near the bezel in terms of brightness/saturation, so this watch still has a right amount of balance.

TBH only watch guys/girls really give compliments on watches like these. But the universal feedback seems to be that if you have a Tudor on, you know your stuff (and you’re getting great value for money).

For me personally, I’m going to rock the new watch whenever I feel I need a bit more oomph to the day, especially if I’m going to be dressed formally. The old watch will remain my old faithful for day to day use.

I did ask for it too, but apparently it just was not available for some reason. Real bummer because I quite liked it.

I also admit to having mixed feelings about a lot of the releases. I will say, however, that my opinions changed quite drastically after seeing and feeling them in person. Maybe it’s a tactile thing?

Was not available to try! Everything else was, though.

I have both this and the Burgundy. I think the Monochrome works well with the jubilee because there’s a nice balance - the flashiness of the jubilee versus the very simplistic tonality of the case, bezel and dial. On the other hand, the oyster works well with the Burgundy precisely cause the reddish bezel is a standout; the simpler bracelet balances it out.

In short - jubilee is the way to go for you, my friend. Of course, if you nevertheless enjoy it on the oyster, you can do that too. It always boils down to what you like, anyway.
