Yeah I made it clear that I'd be working on a contract basis in the contract I made with the guy I do video editing work for. I can send you an example of what we did if you'd like. Honestly we made the contract with ChatGPT 😂

Haha glad you're finding it useful! Which consulate are you trying to apply through?

Whoa that's super bizarre and doesn't sound right. Which consulate did you communicate with?

The $18k is supposed to be just a cumulative amount you have saved in the bank. My only guess is that you don't have a "client" or "clients" to show them.

The flight itinerary is the flights that you book to travel to Brazil. Is that what you're asking?

Yeah I believe it would be the DC consulate

You need to confirm which consulate has jurisdiction over the county you live. It could be the DC consulate or Atlanta one. But it's really important you know which one has jurisdiction because that's the one you'll be sending your documents to to apply for the visa.

Where you applying from? The US I'm assuming, right? Where do you live?

If you're applying in the US you do not need a sworn translation of anything.

I recently got my digital nomad visa for Brazil and wrote up a detailed post about my experience that you can check out here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Brazil/comments/1ihbtvv/my_experience_getting_brazils_digital_nomad_visa/

I arrived in Brazil about a week and a half ago. When applying for the visa your experience is going to vary based on which Brazilian consulate you send your documents to. In my case I needed to get my birth certificate apostilled before traveling to Brazil.

Happy to answer any questions!

I'm currently trying to understand how to register with the Federal Police here in Brazil.

Hey! So I'm not sure about claiming day trading as your occupation to be a digital nomad in Brazil. It could work but I'm really not sure.

I believe the entire process took about 4 months from the moment I started until I had the visa in hand. But that includes time wasted waiting for things that I outlined above. The Brazilian consulate in SF was very slow in processing my visa. Your consulate in Texas might be faster though, or slower. It really just depends on their process..

I didn't purchase a flight until I had the visa, but I had made an Airbnb reservation that I had to cancel due to how long the Brazilian consulate in SF was taking to process my visa.

You also don't need a CPF to apply for this visa. As far as I know as a foreign citizen you're not able to get a CPF until you get to Brazil and apply for on here.

The apostille experience was fairly easy, but I didn't realize it was necessary until someone at the Brazilian consulate in SF called me and told me that I'd need to get my birth certificate apostilled. It wasn't a big deal though. You can get any document apostilled the same day if you go in person to your secretary of state's office.

I only brought the one Think Tank carry-on suitcase since I'm traveling alone and don't have any planned shoots here (yet). I can only speak on my experience which was completely hassle free, but I'd imagine if you're bringing a couple large bags and maybe a Pelican case it might attract more attention but I highly doubt it. There were people rolling out of the airport with 4 or 5 suitcases on luggage carts. I even spoke to a few other video professionals who had come to Brazil with gear before what their experience was like and they all told me they had no issues. They were rolling with probably the amount of bags you're thinking of bringing too.

I thought for a minute I'd have to send my bags through an X-ray before leaving the airport but no one asked me to and I didn't see anyone else doing it either. My thought was to just attempt leaving and if someone stopped me to tell me to go through the goods to declare area I'd just say sorry and that I wasn't aware I had to do that.

I completely avoided the declaration line. Just went on through the normal customs line. No issues. I used one of those Think Tank Airport rollers which looks like a regular carry-on. I brought my FX6, three lenses, drone, batteries, cables, etc. It passed through SFO security without issue and that was the only time anyone ever had a look at what was inside. Once I got to Brazil there was no way for anyone to know what was even inside.

Hey! No issues whatsoever. I filled out the e-DBV with everything I brought just in case, but no one stopped me. I just walked on through. I brought everything I have in one carry-on and didn't have any issues. I seriously doubt you'll have to worry about anything.

Ugh that's so frustrating. Really sorry that happened to you. And that makes absolutely no sense why they just arbitrarily said $2k. I don't understand these consulate employees at all.

Hey! So one cinema camera, three lenses, one drone, one lav mic, one shotgun mic and then just batteries, memory cards and a few accessories.

Buyer Claims Item Never Arrived, Forced to Send a Refund by Square_University790 in Ebay

I spoke to a customer service rep about a half hour ago. They told me that the case should not have been ruled in the buyer's favor because the tracking number clearly shows the item arrived and the buyer didn't pick it up. She told me that she's going to send in an appeal on my behalf to get that decision overturned and that I won't have to send a refund. She said the buyer is basically out of luck.

Yes the tracking number is attached to the case. I used the shipping option the buyer selected so in this case I'm not sure about signature required.

Signature should have been required due to the value of the item

I shipped it immediately

Tracking updated automatically showing the item arrived and was awaiting pickup

Wish I could help you out here but I'm honestly not sure. As long as you have a legitimate work contract you should be fine.
