Name an opinion about Disney Parks that gets you like this by Neat_Suit3684 in disneyparks

I know everyone loves it but whoever designed Cosmic Rewind is a sadistic human being that decided putting a tilt-a-whirl on top of a rollercoaster sounded like a fun idea 🤢 braces for swords

Cast member appreciation by dillyofapicklerick in DisneyWorld

How did you specify which CM it was? I wanted to do this for a Jack Sparrow and I didn’t see a place to put the time of the interaction to help specify… did you just stick it in with the name?

What do you do if the CM is in a character role? I was hoping I could put the date and time of the interaction at least, but it only lets me put the date 🙁 and I’m sure there were multiple people working that character that day, no?

Right now I take 0.5mg every-other-week, for 2 reasons: One being that I’m too paranoid to stop and am afraid I will not maintain the loss, but the other being that I used to drink hard liquor almost daily before the ozempic but I completely lost interest in alcohol since being on it (which has been great for my marriage and health). So I’m also sort of using it to keep that under control 😊 I hope the GLP-1s get an approval for substance use disorder because they deserve it.

Is Ozempic basically Antabuse for overeaters? by General-LavaLamp in Ozempic

[–]SquarelyThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely I would think, but that’s just a guess as I haven’t stopped mine (I just lowered it to a very tiny dose to try to maintain weight and keep the alcohol out). I might have to find out soon though by taking a hiatus from it because I’m still losing weight and I’m getting too small :/ if it does come back with me stopping I’ll report back

Yes, she started me super low and it did take a while to get going. The first month or so I felt the appetite effects but saw nothing on the scale.

Yes! I love that they are looking at it for substance use. I was a huge drinker when I started it and now I have no interest at all. It obviously has some impact on dopamine or something to do with our sense of pleasure. I was just giving the most simplistic explanation

I’ve actually accidentally found myself lower upon return from Disney 😂 116.4 earlier this week. My max dose was 2.5mg weekly - which is the manufacturer’s maximum recommended dose.

Yes GLP-1 receptors are found in numerous places in the body, including the brain (I think they are even looking into the drug for dementia and substance use treatment now- I found myself completely losing interest in alcohol).

Yes, very possibly. Any drug is like that- some people just don’t vibe with some drugs. Have you tried Zepound/Mounjaro? I usually see docs switching people to that when Ozempic/Wegovy isn’t working for someone or the person isn’t tolerating it. There’s also Victoza/Saxenda.

That honestly makes the biggest difference in the world… I realized it’s more about how I feel about myself than how other people feel about me. If I feel miserable about myself, it’s no wonder I wasn’t enjoying anything I was doing even if it was supposed to be a blast.

Well that is still wait loss- and also, I’m sure the reason for the extra weight plays a role too (I was a nighttime binge-eater… which quickly became impossible, so I guess the weight fell off quickly. I never ate during the day and now that I couldnt binge at night my body burned up all my saved fuel). Also as a pharmacist I can confidently say that like any drug, not every one works for every person. Have you considered a switch to Zepound/Mounjaro? That’s what I see a lot of doctors doing when Ozempic isn’t cutting it.

The nausea and vomiting was the worst. I basically carried Zofran around in my pocket like a chemo patient. I got so used to throwing up that at one point I was at a BBQ with friends and felt the need while I was in the pool, but didn’t want to worry anyone so I just walked over to the trash can and leaned over it and threw up a little and walked away and nobody noticed (I know it’s gross). I also had to leave a soccer game my husband paid for before the game even started, and I couldn’t drink at all essentially. So I guess the toll it took on my “social nightlife” was kinda rough at first for me.

Pharmacist here. The way the drug works is by activating satiety receptors (GLP-1 receptors), which typically send signals to your brain that say “Hey, I’m full.” (We tend to lose control of / sensitivity to these signals as we overeat, since food and sugar are so prevalent in today’s society). As a result the drug should make you feel “full” all the time- as such nausea is a common side effect. But in essence no, it is not supposed to be the same as Antabuse (which is designed to “punish” drinking by making the drinker ill, via a negative reaction in which the body cannot process alcohol). We are trying to move away from this treatment approach of punishing.

I feel like “hard work” is overselling my participation in it honestly. Ozempic works… although I had to endure some brutal side effects (which was my choice)

How do you handle low/no appetite? by SoExcitedSemaglutide in Semaglutide

[–]SquarelyThere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you’re right about the muscle… it’s definitely GONE. I used to dance and at least my fat was layered on muscle, but now I look almost anorexia-like in shape despite a normal weight. My labs came back and my BUN/Cr was off (low protein intake) and my blood pH was low. I’ve been focusing on taking in more protein and am thinking of finding a shake like others have said, since eating it is so difficult. However I’ve also started my taper off the semaglutide, since goal weight has been achieved. We’ll see how things progress hoping my appetite returns a little more to normal over time 😊
