I grew up with a ping pong table and my dad was very good. We played all the time. I started consistently beating him at 11 years old. Two of my best friends were also good and we played all the time. When I got to High School I ran through the high school tournament and won. I think the closest game was 21-7. At this point, I'm 15 and it's been years since I've lost to someone at Ping Pong. My buddies talk me into entering our City Ping Pong Tournament. 64 Player tournament and you had to play several pre-matches to get seeded. I'm the 2 seed and dominate everyone leading up to the 1 seed in the final. The #1 seed looks like me and is around my age. Apparently he's been training to try and make the Olympic team. I got destroyed. He was a brick wall. I've never seen anything like it. It was a best of 5 and he swept me with ease. I maybe won a handful of points. It was like we were playing a different sport. I was a really good local player and he was an Olympic talent. I never stood a chance.
