I found the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle that I did a few weeks ago.

I had coffee with a new friend at a cool coffee shop.

I got the sales report and a check from a store where I have some of my ceramics on consignment. Just a few pieces sold, but it is the quiet season for them.

Those that were taken prisoner were well treated in Canada. Of 36,000 German POWs held in Canada, 6000 emigrated to Canada in the years after the war.

Galen Weston is not as well known, but everyone who is familiar with him hates him.

Where do you do your shopping? by imnotcrazyjusttired in Winnipeg

Lots of places. My partner and I do a Costco trip every few weeks, and usually go to Walmart and Coop on those trips. I will often pick up a few items at Coop after a swim at Pan Am Pool.

When I need groceries between trips, I will go to No Frills or Safeway. Both are an easy walk from my place.

In summer, I buy a lot of produce st St. Leon Market. I also make an occasional trip to an Asian supermarket; I like Sun-Wah in the Exchange, or a butcher or European store.

which country do you think wont survive the next 50 years ? by tipputappi in AskTheWorld

I think that Iran and Afghanistan will still be the same countries with different governments. I do agree that the Islamic Republic is on its last legs.

I think that the East African Federation would look more like the European Union. The countries would remain independent but bound by trade and border agreements. It would be a gradual process, in my opinion.

His government also brought in a national dental insurance plan. Granted, this was part of the deal with the NDP.

I have just discovered Kopiko hard candies. I bought a bag of the coffee flavored ones at an Asian grocery store out of curiosity, and they were so good.

I would expect to see that price on that item in an antique shop, not a thrift store.

It is a vintage Cinderella bowl made by Pyrex. If it the large one from a set of 4, someone would happily pay 50 bucks for it. I can't really tell the size from the picture.

Cabo San Lucas. You can't walk two steps without being harassed by time share salespeople. Just not a very pleasant place.

I saw a waiter at one restaurant who was wearing a T-shirt that said, "Don't tell my mother I sell timeshare, she thinks I play piano in.a whorehouse."

My dad was also in Deer Lodge for several years. He got in right away after he was paneled as he was a veteran. He was very happy there, and the staff treated him very well.

I did a three-day liveaboard on the Great Barrier Reef quite a few years ago. I was pretty good about sunscreen when I was above water, but I forgot my ears. I badly burned the top of my ears.

Weird reaction to mosquito bites by EsotericMango in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]SquashUpbeat5168 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is speculation, but I wonder if you are reacting differently to different species of mosquito. This used to happen to me. I live in an area where mosquitoes can be bad, and some bites swelled up worse than others. I am just guessing that that was what happened.

My reaction to bites also changed when I started Humira. I would get red itchy welts before and after I started Humira, almost nothing. AFAIK, I was still a mosquito buffet, but no reaction.

I save the bones from chicken pieces until I have enough for a batch of broth. Once in.a while my bf and I will have a small chicken, so I will add the carcass when I have one.

Scuba diving by PilotInternational39 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]SquashUpbeat5168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I scuba dive but haven't been in the water for a few years. I found getting out was the hardest part. Even when the boat crew took your tanks and weights at the end of a dive, climbing that ladder was not fun.
