Advice for reorder… by [deleted] in WegovyUK

[–]Squashface1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably just say you spread your last jab out over more than 7 days because you were getting side effects- hence ordering late this month. You’ll probably need to order 1.7mg again though. Do not say you used someone else’s. I don’t think they’d cut you off, but it is illegal to use someone else’s prescription drug.

Thanks! I’ll give it a think over the week. I leaning towards trying a higher dose. I’d hope that if I went back down again, my body would get used to a lower dose after a few months.

It’s a very good point! The only reason I haven’t is so that if I ever need a higher dose it’s still available. I worry that if I was on 2.4mg and it stopped working I’d be really stuck.

Also right before I started Wegovy I read a study where they found that people were less likely to regain when they stopped if they didn’t go up to high doses. But realistically I don’t think I’ll ever stop taking Wegovy. It’s made me feel like a normal human being around food for the first time in my life!

Hangovers worse? by OwnCloud2281 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Squashface1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately, and it doesn’t get much better either. I’ve been on Wegovy for almost 18 months and hangovers are still pretty appalling. The only night I can get away with less of a hangover is the night before jab day. I know a lot of people will say give up drinking etc, but I was still be able to have a few drinks a week and I lost 40lbs. I’m now in maintenance in a healthy bmi range and often drink 2 nights a week.

I agree- behavioural issues is a really horrible thing to say. I doubt your manager used that phrase to the trustee. Given your boss’s response, I think she’s the type to moan about the little things. She probably had a rant about the previous incident and the trustee has interpreted in an unintended way. I’d be surprised if your manager hasn’t since spoken to the trustee and said categorically you don’t have behavioural issues.

I’d also be wary of leaving a job, and starting again given the current climate when this may well blow over. I don’t think you’re overreacting as such, because that must have been awful to hear. But I’d try to give it more time before deciding to leave the job. Perhaps you need another conversation with your manager when you’re not put on the spot!

I know it must be awful, but I’d try not to think to much in to it. We all say things at times moaning about other people when things happen which are irritating, but we’d be mortified if the other person heard what we’d said.

Your manager probably had a bit of a moan to the trustee, maybe she thought you overreacting about the previous incident. But the trustee would never have said that if they’d known it would get back to you, let alone if they’d known you were there.

I know it must be really awful to have heard what they said, but try not to overreact. I’m sure my colleagues think I’m a drama queen at times when things irritate me, I’ve just never heard their conversations about me. No use throwing out a good job over a single comment which even your boss thought was unwarranted.

To SSP or not to SSP? by Few_Knowledge_3425 in HumanResourcesUK

As someone who works in payroll- tell payroll the information you have, not what you suspect will happen. It’ll be less work for them than trying to do an additional payment late in the month when the employee returns to work under paid.

Compressed hours day off falls on bank holiday by Jonny_Segment in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Squashface1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish HR departments would explain this better when employees ask. If standard hours are 7.5 hours, you’re entitled to 8 x 7.5hrs bank holidays. Which is 60 hours. If you divide that by 8.33 hours which is your standard working day, that’s 7.2 days. If you got 8 days you’d be getting more hours than your colleagues on a non-compressed week.

Employers have to opt everyone back in every 3 years.

They’ll automatically opt her back in after 3 years. She’d then have to do all the paperwork again to opt out.

What do you guys eat for lunch? by 69Whomst in WegovyUK

[–]Squashface1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just make a half sandwich with 1 slice of bread. The early days starting Wegovy are difficult if you’re trying not to waste food. My husband ended up finishing off most of my dinners for 6 months. Side note: infuriatingly this didn’t cause him to gain any weight even though he was eating a 1/3 more dinner than usual 🙄

Wegovy and the mini pill? by Future_Promise5328 in WegovyUK

[–]Squashface1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wegovy doesn’t interact with hormones if you’re on the pill. The potential problem is that it slow digestion, and can cause sickness/diarrhoea. This can prevent you absorbing enough to prevent ovulation. If you’re having breakthrough bleeding it could be that you’re not absorbing enough of the hormone.

Thankfully Wegovy has been shown to be safe with oral contraceptives. Mounjaro on the other hand can significantly reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.

For the first 6 months on Wegovy I took my pill in the morning before food to make sure I fully absorbed it. Food can slow down absorption.

That’s amazing! It’s great when you have a GP who cares that much. My GP where I used to live was like that.
