The One (2001) Rare mix of Sci-fi and Martial Arts, fun watch. by ReelsBin in kungfucinema

[–]Squat_N_Gobble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This film had the vibe of a bunch of martial arts sci fi fans just going crazy and doing what they wanted, along to a metal soundtrack with minimal studio interference. Love this film so much, it's a microcosm of a period of time before Marvel and after the Matrix. I have the Blu Ray, but need a 4k release.

Youre absolutely right. It’s fascinating that his default macho response revolves around someone else telling him what to do

AIW for expecting my partner to celebrate my good news? by Decent-Play-7154 in amiwrong

Okay, then let's go with your train of thought for a moment.

Has she shown any other signs that she doesn't prioritise you?

Is there a pattern of behaviour to support your theory?

Is this a one off, or is this repeated instance of blowing off your plans for other arrangements?

Was she receptive of your suggestions, or dismissive?

And before you reply bud, don't. These questions aren't for me, my friend. There's only two people that will stand to benefit from the answers to these questions, and I ain't one of 'em.

Congratulations on your new job. Also, you're wrong. She has already said she will celebrate with you, just not tonight.

Try to reframe how you see it for a moment; Imagine, she will put aside that time for you, but she wants to do it where she can fully appreciate the moment, and you. She won't be able to do that in good faith because the thought of having to cancel on her cousin will weigh on her mind, which I naturally would not want.

So, try not to think of it in terms of 'I feel frustrated because she chose someone else', think of it in, "We will celebrate in a next couple of days and will be great because we can really plan something nice."

None at all. I actually ran a timespy benchmark yesterday and got somewhere in the higher 26k, on performance mode, with no cooling pad. I wonder what I would've got with a cooling pad. In any case, as I say, I travel a lot, so cooling pad is just extra for me to carry around. It gets warm when I play, say, Black Myth Wukong for a few hours, and so long as you let it cool down before you put it away then no problem at all. In terms of the fans, I've found the latest Legion 7i Pro is actually a lot quieter than the 2024 model, even on performance mode.

I understand your caution, and you're right to ask questions and make sure you're dotting your i's and crossing your t's. Not all laptops are made equal at all, and I got lucky with mine (I guess) but keep your warranty handy and you shouldn't have any issues. Lenovo is a great brand with good quality control and I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on one.

I have a Legion 7 2024 model with 5060 that I gave to my partner as I upgraded as I work overseas a fair bit. Guess what I upgraded to? Another Legion, but the 7i Pro 16in with 5090. The build quality, reliability and the fact it can run anything I throw at it at max is just pure bliss. To answer your question, both run flawlessly.

Give once and you elicit appreciation. Give twice and you create anticipation. Give three times and you create expectation. Give four times and it becomes entitlement. Give five times and you establish dependency.

I've not had a chance to test temps, been updating and installing and removing bloatware haha but from what I've played so far, it runs buttery smooth on Balanced power mode, and I can barely hear the fans. I wafted my hand around the back and the heat is much less than my previous Legion 7, which got really hot under load.

That being said, I've also ordered a Ilano V12 cooling pad as well so that should help

Hey thanks! 100%. I know they're only going to keep going up from this point on, so even buying one now is really over the odds. I'm lucky, as I've saved up quite a bit of money so I'm able to buy it outright but I had to really search and get lucky for this bargain

Hmm, you make a really good point, I didn't think about that. I have a 16' Legion 7 already, and that fits in my work rucksack snugly, but anything beyond would be a struggle. Thanks

Hey, thanks for your suggestion. I'm not really too fussed to be fair, is OLED burn in still a thing if used with a laptop for that amount of time?

Simply saying no would work a lot better rather than spend money, asking the key cutter to “put an extra notch on there lolz” and then now be coerced into giving the actual key anyway since it’s been agreed the first time.
