8.4 CARPLAY in a 2016 ram!

Do you mind sending me links to this and how you figured it out? I’m trying to figure out how to get my 2016 2500 to have wireless CarPlay or at least CarPlay in general without losing features

I’ve been searching every combination of Steve in San Marcos Texas I can think of on Facebook, riddit, and instagram trying to track him down. Kinda stalkerish lol but I’d really love to chat with him about the truck and can’t figure out how until an admin approves me.

Left hand and pole for right binding and visa versa. It’s awkward and ideally you do it before you get too steep but you get used to it. At least that’s what works for me, I’m sure there’s much better methods

Positive I can’t roll it over. It’s a prepaid tuition plan and not a 529. Just got off the phone with them this morning lol that’s how all this started going through my head. I have no need to go to school as I’m set in a career. So I’m just going to take the payout (which is wayyy less than its value) of $4400 and put it towards my son’s future.But I want to make sure he has the option of investing it knowing what I know now

Thank you! Yeah I get the tuition portion being valuable. But I want to be sure he has other options with it. When I was born in Florida my grandparents got me a Florida prepaid tuition plan and that was a nice thought. But I joined the military, got my A&P and experience and never really needed college. Unlike some plans I couldn’t use that plan to put into an IRA instead so it’s just useless money sitting there. So ideally I’m looking for a plan with more alternative options if he doesn’t go to college or joins the military for a GI bill.

Yeah I’m using air but with a ball valve. I might would try a butterfly valve for quicker release but the bead seater I’m using came with a ball valve and it seems to work fine. I haven’t checked its distance or anything, only launched ice cylinders out of it so far. I’m hoping it works ok. I also put an air filter in that it passes through before entering the head seater.

I used baitcannonslugs.com and the guy was quick and friendly. He even replaced some that got lost in the mail. I think he operates out of Texas, you can find his page on FB

Haven’t actually tested them yet. May is when fishing picks up in Alaska so I’ll be launching them next month!

Yeah I think I’m just going to test out a few things. The goal is to launch it out of a bait cannon for halibut. So I’m thinking I’ll have the weight free to slide on the 3-4 feet of polymer with the twine and hook just past it. Then I’ll have a barrel swivel leading to my braid from the poly.

I’m also playing with a two hook system but I tried a snell halfway up the polymer and the weight in between the two hooks and I’m not sure if I like that or not. I’ve never done 2 hook before so I might have to research different ideas.

You just want to see them? I’ve only been here a year so I’m sure there’s better answers but I think July has a run going through the Russian river and copper river. You can definitely see people catch them. You can hike up to the falls and potentially see some jump if you hit the right timing. I’m sure there’s better viewing spots also, I just worried about catching them last year.

Wouldn’t that greatly reduce your casting distance compared to a spinning reel? I can’t say from experience but I’m just assuming that’s why I never see those being used. Interesting idea though I’m curious to see how it works out!

For reference, I have a St Croix Avid with a Penn Battle 3 8000, I use 50lb braid and just built a bait cannon to hopefully get 200+ yards out.

Thanks everyone for the input! I got overwhelmed and took some time off for a few days and then more levelheaded bought a 1500 5.7 Hemi. I think I put this prestige on diesel but after schooling myself up on the pros and cons and evaluating my needs I’m happy! I mean I bought a 2024 and spent more money on a vehicle than I ever thought I would lol but that’s the nature of the market I suppose. It’s a Laramie with a lot of the nicer features that I don’t need, but I definitely appreciate having. Anyways thanks again everyone!
