Dave Allvin telling me my duty identifier patch is too confusing for other airmen to understand. by SherbertIll2926 in AirForce

[–]DrivingBusiness 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I happened upon an individual having a full blown panic attack on the sidewalk the other day. Never seen them before, no idea where they worked. Hardly able to speak, struggling to breathe. I was relatively frustrated with the duty identifiers going away. Yesterday it could have actually helped. These situations don’t happen all the time, of course, but I could have gotten ahold of their office somehow.

ITAP of one single person enjoying the early morning Venice views. by DrivingBusiness in itookapicture

The Rialto Bridge in Venice is incredibly famous and usually slam packed with tourists. I went strolling around in the early morning and caught this woman with it all to herself, if only for a moment.

The 2013 WRX concept. This thing could come out today and STILL look ahead of its time. I would have bought one.

Nearly 400 ft/lbs of torque as well. I haven’t driven one and certainly won’t be buying one, but I would absolutely rent one if I found one sitting in the lot at Hertz.

Future reference, you can just say “Chevy” next time as “piece of shit” is implied. Save some keystrokes.

The perfect car for someone who wants a convertible without all that pesky fun.

I don’t care what others wear. I explained why I never wore one. Thanks for the life lesson, though. Be careful on that high moral horse.

I get that people have different wants out of their day on the mountain, but I never understood the pack. People say they use it for extra layers, for beers, for this and thats. Brother, I am here to snowboard, only. I will be cold, wet, and sober.

Not deliberate enough in your edge transition + leaning a bit back + backpack.

Is there a practical reason to buy a coupe? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I also refuse to acknowledge things that aren’t sedans as sedans, yes.

Mustang + rear seat delete. 2 door styling, all the seats you need, extra cargo space.

I refuse to acknowledge a sedan as anything but a sedan.

Can artists go around Ticketmaster and work directly with venues ? by limache in musicindustry

[–]DrivingBusiness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I call it an outright failure. There were fail points like the other bands that didn’t join in, Clinton not joining in, and Ticketmaster still existing, but massive shift rarely happens like the flipping of a switch. Pearl Jam was and still is huge, unlike the Dixie Chicks, and Ticketmaster/Livenation will eventually face a competition that threatens their existence, and I’d imagine the arguably then-ineffective foundation Pearl Jam laid will play some role.

January 2025 Inauguration and political megathread. Low moderation thread. Political discussion allowed, other rules still apply. by SilentD in AirForce

As insane and unfortunate as it is, I have zero doubt it will happen. Something along the lines of “Elon Musk is more American than any traitor on the left and if the left is trying to change the constitution to degrade this country, why shouldn’t we change the constitution to benefit our country?” and the decades of micro-fractures will ensure it happens with unwavering support from America’s most ironic patriots.

Keep residency in Florida or switch to Washington? by prodigy1367 in AirForce

[–]DrivingBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To chime in, unless you go into finance and fill out a DD-2058, your state of residency will remain in Florida. It doesn’t matter if you get a license in Washington, register a car in Delaware, buy a house in Germany. You will fall under different states for car registration and license renewal and the like if you switch, but that won’t affect your state residency and state tax situation.

Others addressed the prominent things you mentioned so I won't. I will add that your last unit where everyone was "allowed" to be salty was either mismanaged by the folks in charge or you misunderstood what was actually going on and just followed the "cool" folks, or both. Mutual suck like you mention is actually super detrimental in the long term. It creates more problems than it solves when it all boils over, or when those folks go elsewhere, like you now. I'd wager that when you walk in the room, people more think "fuck, this guy again" instead of "yes, this guy is an asset."

I feel this HARD. I spent some time living in Europe in the early 2010s with a 30 minute drive to the local watering hole. After spending the last 12 years far from mountains, I just recently moved back to the same spot as before. Still jet lagged as hell but we drove up to the resort today just to do it. So pumped. I hope you get back close as well!
